A: The YumYum! Oven was designed with safety as the highest priority. The YumYum! Oven features a safety device that only lets you open the door when the oven is completely cool. This is to make sure users cannot touch hot surfaces or food. Here’s how the safety system works: Temperature Gauge: When the oven is hot, a line will appear in the temperature gauge. When it’s safe to open, the gauge will be blank. Safety Lock: The oven door remains locked while it is still hot. Forcing the door may damage the oven. Cooling Period: After baking, slide the ON/OFF switch to “OFF” and set a timer for 25 minutes. This cooling period ensures both the oven and your treats are safe to handle. These features were thoughtfully included by the YumYum! Oven’s designers—parents and grandparents themselves—so children and families can enjoy baking safely.

This takes me right back to my childhood. I loved using my Easy Bake Oven; it gave me such a sense of accomplishment. I want the same thing for my nieces so this is defnitnely on my shopping list!

I bought the YumYum! Oven for my niece’s birthday along with the Deluxe Bake & Decorate Set and the Sugar Cookie Mix, and it has been such a joy to use together. Watching her excitement reminded me so much of when I had an Easy-Bake Oven as a kid—there’s something so nostalgic about passing on that experience. I still love baking to this day, and it felt really special to share that with her in a fun, safe way. The oven itself is easy to use, the mixes are perfectly portioned, and the decorating set added a lot of extra fun. My niece loved making the sugar cookies (and covering them in sprinkles, of course), and I loved seeing her feel proud of what she created. It’s a gift that’s not just about the treats—it’s about the memories you make together. Highly recommend!

I don't have kids so I wasn't sure what kind of activities to do with my niece and nephew on Labor Day weekend that doesn't involve screens. I am SO glad I picked this up! Easy to use and kind of takes me back to the days of EZ Bake Ovens but with a modern upgrade. Kids were proud to be able to have their creations on display at the picnic table. Good family bonding toy.

I was babysitting my nieces, and I bought the YumYum oven to have a fun activity. It reminded me of toy ovens I had used as a child. They are 7 and 10, and they loved the Yum Yum oven. They enjoyed decorating the mini cakes, and they made the cookie mix too.

The oven seems like it would have a light to see the cookies baking but it doesn’t. The picture is showing what it looks like while it’s baking, no light just black. We were really disappointed about that. Also we bought the box of cookie mix that goes with it for $10. The amount of cookies you get is maybe one normal small size cookie. Not a good value for the money.

Older toy ovens used lightbulbs as the heat source, which is why they often had windows for viewing and light inside. For safety reasons, today’s ovens—including the YumYum! Real Baking Oven—use a safer heating element instead of a bulb. Because there’s no lightbulb, there isn’t an interior light. This design choice also means parents don’t need to worry about replacing bulbs, making the oven simpler and more convenient to use. We understand that being able to watch the baking process can add to the fun, and we’ll be sure to share your suggestion with our team for future updates. Regarding the mixes, they’re portioned specifically for the YumYum! Oven to ensure safe, even baking. They’re also made here in the USA with kid-friendly recipes. While the cookie size is smaller to fit the oven, the goal is to give kids a real baking experience in a safe way. We hope you and your family still had fun using the YumYum! Oven, and we truly appreciate your input—it helps us improve For your reference, here are the two key safety guidelines we must adhere to regarding ASTM F963 / CPSC—drawn directly from current U.S. regulations and industry standards—regarding shrouding heating elements in kids’ baking or “toy” ovens. 1. Heating elements must be fully enclosed and structurally supported According to the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, in 16 CFR Part 1505, electrically operated toys (which include toy ovens) have strict requirements for their heating elements: • The heating element must be supported in a substantial and reliable manner, preventing any contact inside or outside the toy that could cause electric shock. • The current‑carrying component of the heating element must be enclosed, and that enclosure must be designed or insulated to prevent the development of a shock or fire hazard in the event of element failure. 2. Enclosures containing live parts must resist tampering and block access Further provisions in 16 CFR Part 1505 outline requirements for enclosure design: • Any enclosure housing parts at more than 30 volts (including heating elements) must be sealed using methods such as welding, riveting, adhesive bonding, or fasteners not removable with common household tools (like regular screwdrivers or pliers). • Enclosures must not allow the entry of a 0.010-inch-diameter wire (e.g., music wire) that could make contact with live parts. This ensures that curious fingers—or insertion attempts with wire-like tools—are thwarted.
