Exceptional Romantic Suspense!

Whew! This book kept me invested until the very end and even though I thought I knew the villain, I was never absolutely sure. In fact, I was wrong several times! This is labeled as romantic suspense, so you can count on some clean romantic chemistry but Obsession is first and foremost a mystery/suspense novel. There is also a strong faith thread that runs throughout the story, with forgiveness as the key element. If you're looking for a story with well-developed characters and an absorbing plot that keeps you turning the pages, you will want to read Obsession by Patricia Bradley. It's the second book in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series and I certainly look forward to the next installment! I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation to write a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
Thrilling second visit to Natchez Trace

This is book 2 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. The story line follows Emma, an interpretive ranger, and Sam, a law enforcement ranger, who have a shadowed past together. Their work in different parts of the National Park Service is really fascinating. The plot is fast-paced with twists and turns that will have you guessing at the identity of the villain. The villain also has a voice in the story, which adds an extra dimension to the story. Emma has issues with commitment but did love Sam before a murder and disappearance of her twin brother tore them apart. Sam has issues with anger and forgiveness but still loves Emma. As new evidence crops up regarding Emma's brother and the ten-year-old unsolved murder case, Emma is also targeted by a stalker. The past and the present converge in an adrenaline-filled chase as Sam does his best to protect Emma and figure out what happened ten years ago. If you enjoy high-intensity suspense with a bit of romance, you will enjoy this book. I received the book from Revell/Baker Publishing Group via NetGalley and Interview & Reviews and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.

Obsession by Patricia Bradley is the second book in her Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. After ten years of wondering where brother her is, Ranger Emma Winters may be getting close to some answers. As if that wasn’t enough to deal with, she also has an obsessed stalker after her. Emma’s ex-fiancé, Ranger Samuel Ryker is determined that nothing will happen to her as he helps her find the answers she so desperately needs. This was a page-turning thrill ride. I liked the little excerpts from the stalker that was thrown in here and there. It made the tension rise. Emma was a very strong character. She never crumbled when everything around her was falling apart. In some stories when the heroine finds out that the hero has been keeping a secret, they get all defensive and it takes many chapters to resolve everything. But Emma was able to see the reasons and act like a real person; not some melodramatic drama queen. I can’t wait for the next book! I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

This is the second novel in the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. Even though I would recommend reading the first book before this one, it is not necessary to be able to follow along and enjoy this one. The title of the book gives you a good idea of what it is about because the main female character, Emma Winters, has a stalker who as the title tells you is obsessed with her. There is also an few other things going on in this novel that add to the suspense and mystery. There is a ten year old cold case in which a girl named Mary Jo Selby was murdered as well as the fact that the brother of Emma Winters has been missing for that same amount of time leading a lot to believe that he is the guilty party. If you like the following: puzzles, suspense, and romance, then you will definitely enjoy this book. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in order to give an honest review.

3.5 stars "Life is short. Enjoy each day." What a strange message; especially after Natchez Trace Ranger Emma Winters had survived a harrowing life and death experience the prior evening. There was no signature on the card that accompanied an early morning gerbera daisy delivery to Emma's front door. Why had someone fired shots at her on public property and why did the flowers now seem like a creepy message, or even worse; a warning. On the other hand, why did having Samuel Ryker back in her life feel much, much better than it should? Being a former almost-husband wasn't an advantage when it came to handling Emma Winters. Beautiful but feisty, and fiercely independent, Samuel Ryker knew to keep his distance. But when Emma literally hurled herself into his arms . . .. what was a man to do? Anyone would be shaken up after running for their life, but Samuel had a gut feeling that Emma's safety going forward was going to be more complicated than a few forensic tests could prove. Someone didn't want her restoring historic grave sites at the Trace, and that same someone (or could there be more than one?) must be stalking her every move. In either scenario, someone has a deadly obsession with Emma Winters. In terms of "who done it?", this story scores a big win. Its multiple dead ends and false leads will find readers scratching their heads, only to be delighted over the fact that Emma and Samuel manage to strike a friendly rhythm . . . . . before it all comes crashing down again . Admittedly, Emma is "better at breaking off a relationship", so it's going to be up to Samuel to clean out some of his own emotional cobwebs . . . Emma's life may very well depend on it. I received a copy of this book from Baker Publishing Group through Interviews and Reviews. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.
Forgiveness

This book will grab you and not let go until the final page is turned, and you will have your heart in your throat while reading, and holding your breath for answers. A missing brother, a murder, shots being fired, and then stalking, and maybe throw in a little sweet romance. I have read many books by this author including the first book in this series, and yes, this can stand along! This story quickly became a page turner, looking for answers and guessing whom the culprit is, and I guessed wrong a log. I loved how much forgiveness for past happenings played here, and how the realization of wanting to be forgiven is the catalyst to forgiving. I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
