Q: Is it possible to remove the legs and put directly on the floor?

Perfect!
This bed is exactly what I was hoping for. It was delivered in two boxes on separate days. The instructions and assembly were straightforward. I was able to do everything by myself. This can be used with or without a box spring. In the picture you can see what it looks like with a box spring. The headboard height does adjust up/down slightly which will also increase/decrease the gap. My headboard is adjusted all the way up so the gap could be smaller if adjusted all the way down. Very sturdy. No squeaking. Comes with wooden slats.

I followed all the directions & The support legs on the bottom are crooked- the headboard isn’t what this photo displays. The headboard is up high and when lowered so it can touch the frame, there’s no place to screw it in place. Bed feels like it’s sinking in so it downs have much support. I have a new mattress and new everything. This is a huge disappointment especially given the price I paid.

Really dislike this bed. The bed frame is SO low and the mattress feels like you are sleeping on the floor. Makes it super hard to store items underneath and needs a box spring. In addition, I'm only 5'3 and weigh 120 pounds, the boards under the bed have broken. I'm returning this after a few months.

Very difficult to put a fitted sheet on
This bed looks great but it is extremely difficult to put a fitted sheet on it. The mattress is too close to the fabric frame of the bed and sets down at least a couple inches. It must be tugged up to put the sheet on. We are considering buying a new box spring to raise it to make it functional to make the bed. I do not recommend this bed solely because of the difficulty to make it.
