  • A: We do not recommend replacing the battery in the Oral-B Pulsar manual toothbrush. The battery is designed to last the lifetime of the brush head which is approximately 3 months when brushing for 2 minutes twice a day.   • A: The battery in the first brush I used lasted a number of weeks, NOT 3 months. Yes, you can change the battery yourself by screwing off the base. Cheap batteries used in the original it seems.

    Can’t replace the battery

    The toothbrush works great. But I can’t replace the battery without bending the metal piece holding the battery in place. The metal piece never bends back enough to get it working again. Why have a battery that you can’t replace or recharge?

    Such a great toothbush

    Overpriced

    It’s fine, but I’ve gotten faulty ones before and have lost out on money because of the hassle of dealing with it. These have gone up by 30 percent in price in the last couple of months. Corporate greed. Won’t be repurchasing.

    Great, just doesn't last long

    I love this toothbrush. It’s a perfect mix between a low maintenance electric toothbrush and a normal toothbrush. The only downside is that it only lasts 6 weeks before the battery dies and you cannot exchange the battery. I wish it had replaceable batteries.

    Don't buy pulsar

    Just bought this pulsar, and it did not power on. Read the small print and it said the battery was not replaceable. Figured battery may be blocked, but it was not. Used it anyway and it intermittently came on a couple times for like a second or two and shuts off. The very few bristles are very inadequate. Have used Oral B for as long as I can remember. I will stick with the old manual toothbrushes. This pulsar was a waste of money.

The design and the bristles aren’t hard, I really enjoy using this one. Being able to replace the battery is cool too rather than having to just throw it away and replace the whole thing and it saves money that way!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased rechargeable toothbrushes before, but it seems like when I like one, they stop selling the replacement heads. This is why I prefer battery-powered, disposable toothbrushes. The Oral-B Vibrating Pulsar Expert Clean Manual Toothbrush is a nice size. The brush head is smaller than my last one and shaped so that it can get those hard-to-reach spaces in the back. The vibration helps to remove plaque, whiten teeth and improve gum health. I have been using it for at least 3 weeks, and it is still working as well as the first time. I have a dentist’s appointment in the morning, and I am pretty confident that I will have a good report.

The little free moving pieces are not moved by power but rather by your movement and touch. My mouth feels clean after using so they must be helpful but I didn’t really feel a difference when using. For instance, I didn’t feel a flossing type affect.

I typically like medium bristles, and thought these would be too soft, but my teeth have felt clean. Super easy to use and don’t have to worry about charging or keeping in a safe place, unlike a fancy toothbrush. The thing I have trouble with is finding the off button. I usually click the on button or have to feel around for it. Would be nice if it were in a different location. Overall, I would purchase this product and would recommend.
