The average lifespan is approximately 4 years for our battery powered toothbrushes, Matt, and we're sorry to hear you're having charging difficulties. The lifetime of the battery itself should be sufficient for approx. 3 months, based on 2 min brushing twice a day. Additional brushing reduces the battery lifetime. Here are some tips to get the best performance from your toothbrush. -Don’t press the brush too hard against your teeth and let the bristles do the work. -Be sure to rinse the brush thoroughly after each use. -Use quality alkaline batteries. -Make sure the batteries are inserted properly.
