Q: How many ounces is this bottle ??? Why isn't it stated in the product details ?
A: Hi Anne, this product page is for the 32oz size of Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap - Peppermint. Hope this helps!
submitted byTarget Beauty Consulting - 8 years agoBrand expertA: Dr Bronners sells a variety of sizes, mostly in multiples of 2 ounces, from a few ounce travel size to gallons (hard to find these days.) The size is always posted on the product in the label (in the above ad, enlarge the photo and look above the "fair trade" logo.) The website should make clear which size product you are looking at (as this one does in the title) and the prices are pretty standard, with double the quantity usually being just less than double the price (excluding occasional sales by the merchant.) I like to buy one two ounce bottle to keep by the sink, and then buy the biggest size I can and just refill it as needed. The cap will become clogged with gooey "dry bronners", especially if you leave the top up, but this can be swiped out with your finger. Don't worry - its clean gunk!

Q: Is this suitable for children?
A: Hi, Thank you for contacting Dr. Bronner's! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us as we take the health and safety of our customers very seriously. Our products have been tested and deemed safe in toxicological assessments, below the safety limits suggested by the governing authorities. However, please note that all fragrance oils are composed of constituents that may cause skin irritation for some, particularly in sensitive areas. With that in mind, rest assured that our Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap, or any of our milder scents such as Almond or Lavender, are great for young children and kids! When taking a bath, add a capful of soap into the bath water and let them soak. When bathing babies, we recommend using our Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap as it contains no essential oils and almost double the olive oil, making it perfect for washing your child's face, body, and hair. Just add a few drops (2 – 3) to a damp washcloth to easily maintain control of the soap as no true soap is tear-free, so it's important to keep soap out of the eyes. The “tear-free" characteristic can only be achieved with synthetic non-soap detergents and is not something we're able to do given the all-natural formulation of our soaps. To read more about bathing babies with our Pure-Castile Soap, head over to Lisa Bronner's blog post, Using Castile Baby Mild Soap on Babies. We do not recommend our Peppermint Pure-Castile Soaps for children under 3 years old as the cooling tingle from the peppermint essential oil is quite strong. Additionally, Eucalyptus Pure-Castile Soaps are only recommended for adults as the eucalyptus essential oil may cause irritation for babies and children. If you have any health concerns, we always recommend that you consult with your child’s dermatologist or physician to be on the safe side, as they can help determine the products that may be more suitable for their body. Should you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! All the best and All-One,

Q: What should this be diluted with?
A: Hi, thank you for reaching out to Dr. Bronner's! While you can dilute our Pure-Castile Liquid soap, rest assured that this is not necessary for all uses and mostly comes down to preference. For example, some may prefer just pouring a few drops into their hands for handwashing, and others may prefer to dilute our soap at a 1:3 ratio in a foaming pump. It's truly up to you and your needs. However, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when first getting started with our Pure-Castile Soap. Firstly, our soap is 2 - 3 times more concentrated than most soaps on the market; therefore, less is definitely more. Additionally, diluting our soap with water does reduce its shelf life because we do not add any harsh preservatives to our products. Generally, diluting with tap or filtered water results in a shelf life of about 2 weeks to a month, while dilutions with distilled water can last up to 6 months. Using distilled water can also reduce natural soap separation that may occur with hard water. Please keep in mind that we encourage cleaning your containers out thoroughly before refilling them with diluted soap to promote freshness from batch to batch. Lastly, it's important to note that our Liquid Soap does not work well with pump dispensers. We have tested a variety of pumps and dilutions over the years with little success. Inevitably, the very concentrated soap clogs the pump. We recommend keeping the soap in its original bottle and using just a drop or two for each handwashing. On the other hand, our Liquid Soap does works very well in foaming dispensers. Foaming dispensers “thicken” the soap with water and air producing a velvety cloud of soap. If you decide to use a foaming dispenser, make sure to dilute the soap at a ratio of 1 part soap to 3 parts water. Here are some suggested ratio examples: 8 oz. bottle = 2 oz. soap and 6 oz. water 12 oz. bottle = 3 oz. soap and 9 oz. water For an extensive guide on recipes and applications for our products, we highly recommend checking out Lisa Bronner's blog, Going Green with Lisa Bronner, where she provides incredibly handy dilution cheat sheets. https://www.lisabronner.com/dilutions-cheat-sheet-for-dr-bronners-castile-soap/ We truly hope you enjoy your journey with Dr. Bronner's products! Q: is there any shelf life/expiry for these soaps ?
A: Hey, Great question! The length of time varies, depending on the type of product, how it is used, and how it is stored. Expiration dates and shelf life will be listed on most products. Look for the "open jar" symbol. After opened, you should use a product as directed or within one year. Always throw the product away if it seems discolored, develops a strange odor, or the consistency changes.
