Q: Mine sits on the plug in charger all day and when I go to use it, it stops spinning right in the middle of me brushing, is mine defective? It’s literally brand new not even a month old.

A: Hi. I would not leave it in the charger. Let the charge go down, charge it, let it go down then charge it. Keep doing that. A charge should last for many days.

A: All Oral-B Electric brushes can be safely used as early as 3 years of age. However, due to the dimensions of the Adult Electric brush heads being designed for permanent teeth, we recommend an Adult Electric Toothbrush.

A: BPA is not used as an ingredient in any P&G/ Oral-B products. It is a trace component from the manufacture of polycarbonate plastic, resins and adhesives. Thank you for letting us know this, Jay. We assure you we perform diligent testing on our rechargeable toothbrushes to ensure they operate as expected, and last at least 2-3 years with regular use. We'd like to review some troubleshooting tips that may work for this model. First, ensure the toothbrush is switched to the "off" position before putting it on the charger. Also, ensure the handle is on the charging pin correctly, and facing forward (away from the power cord on the back of the charger), then charge the toothbrush for 24 hours. Mold mold mold!
Second one I’ve bought thinking it was the way my daughter stored her toothbrush that was causing the mold. I even wrote to oral B the first time this happened and they said no way that could happen unless we did something wrong. Did everything right for sure this time and still black water and mold coming out of the head and the unit itself! Gross.

While very rare, this can occur if the brush is stored in a location that is exposed to mold and bacteria, and the plastic comes into contact with ingredients of a corrosive nature (e.g. cleaning agents, sprays, cosmetics, soaps, etc.). Certain ingredients used in those types of products can make the plastic porous, allowing dirt and moisture to find places to settle. They love their toothbrushes and they work great, one suggestion to the manufacturer would be to add a little cover for the bristles for when they are done brushing and are sitting out on the counter.

Mold!
Coming here to complain like many of the other comments. This toothbrush allows mold to grow and it’s disgusting. Constantly changing out the brush heads every few weeks is too costly. I do not have this issue with the adult electric toothbrushes in our home.

Don’t buy. Noticed black water dripping out when brushing my son’s teeth. Took off the brush head and there was mold inside. Disappointed as the toothbrush itself works very well. Trashed it.

To prevent this, rinse the brush head under running water with the handle on. Then switch it off, remove the head, clean both parts separately, and dry them before reattaching. While we offer a 2-year warranty on most brushes, it does not cover damage from normal wear, misuse, or failure to maintain the product properly. When charging, please make sure your brush has been powered off before putting it on the charger. Ensure that you are not charging on or near a metal surface – this can interfere with the electromagnetic charger and also try another outlet to ensure it's not the outlet. Head design allows for mold
Unfortunately throwing this away immediately. The toothbrush itself works great, but the small hole on the head allows for mold growth within the head very quickly. I am shocked with this design flaw and will be purchasing our daughter a different brand.

Dissapointing
I purchased this for my 4 year old. This toothbrush is way too loud for a child. He refuses to use it due to the loud sound, which defeats the purpose of a kid-friendly design. Coming from a company known for quality, this was a letdown. He already uses a disposable electirc toothbrush from a different brand so it's not like switching to electric from maual is the problem.

Doesn't stay on
Just purchased this toothbrush for my daughter and it only works for 10 seconds and shuts off. We’ve examined the charger, changed outlets, tried using the charger from our other daughter, etc. and nothing is working. Hope I can get my money back even though I threw away the box.

Choking hazard
This toothbrush almost choked our 3.5 year old. The brush head fell off while brushing his back teeth and became lodged in his throat. Luckily my wife was there to pull it out, but it’s a dangerous product.
