Q: What type of batteries does this toothbrush use?

submitted by Dog mom - 5 years ago
  • A: its a rechargeable device doesnt need batteries

    submitted bypmlc220394 - 3 months ago
  • A: Have mine for a few years. The battery indicator stopped working but it never runs out of power when using it. Hmmmmm

submitted bykaicanoe - 1 year ago
  • A: It comes with it's own battery. It charges by being plugged into an outlet, the toothbrush charges by being on the stand via wireless charger. Hope this helps!

    submitted byLovebug4 - 5 years ago
  • A: This toothbrush comes with a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery that shouldn't be changed and is charged through a charging station. For help with the battery give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: I’ve had mine for 12 years and the same battery is still charging on the charger.

submitted byskjc - 4 years ago

Q: Does this toothbrush have a battery status warning light?

submitted by Les - 2 years ago
  • A: No, there is no warning light when the battery runs low.

    submitted byOral-B - 1 year ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Yes, it will blink red.

submitted bytheconsciousconsumer - 3 months ago
  • A: Mine does have a light that flashes red when it starts to get low. Not sure what the “expert” is talking about lol

submitted byJax - 4 months ago

Q: Does it come with multiple tooth brushes so that more than one person can use it?

submitted by Kelly - 6 years ago
  • A: But you can switch out the brush head (removable) for each person.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago
  • A: The Pro 1000 only comes with one brush head.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: The brush is easy to remove, and you can buy extra brushes for the other people to use.

    submitted byjennywren1420 - 3 years ago

Q: could it be used univerally? What's the plug voltage?

submitted by Nina - 8 years ago
  • A: No. The charger only works with 120 VAC (eg US). I tried to use one in Europe with a plug converter (not a transformer) and that broke it.

submitted byLex - 7 years ago
  • A: If you have a transformer that converters your electrical service to 120 volts, then you can use it.

    submitted byBob W - 8 years ago
  • A: Oral-B electric toothbrushes contain either a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery or a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. NiMH batteries have a nominal voltage of 1.2 V; the Li-Ion battery has a nominal voltage of 3.6 V. The Pro Crossaction 1000 Brush has a NiMH (Nickel-metal hydride) battery.

Q: Can you use this toothbrush in the shower?

submitted by Lindsey - 8 years ago
  • A: Yes, all Oral-B electric toothbrushes are waterproof, so it is fine to use them in the shower. However, we don’t recommend immersing your brush in water. We recommend making sure that you completely dry the handle after use and before charging.

    submitted byOral-B - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Yes but its a monumental waste of water and energy to heat that water. Even worse than leaving the water running while brushing.

submitted byZika - 6 months ago
  • A: I never tried it but I wash mine off under the running faucet every time I use mine. The case appears to be sealed so as long as the case isn't damaged you can.

    submitted byBob W - 8 years ago

Q: I have mine a month now and it leaves a white residue when left standing in the bathroom cabinet. The toothpaste I use is green and I wipe the brush down before putting it in the cabinet. Any ideas?

submitted by Jim - 1 year ago
  • A: There is nothing in the toothbrush that will leave a residue, and making sure to clean it after every use is what we would recommend, Jim. Call us at (800) 566-7252 so we can look into this further.

  • A: Probably the scale in the water and residual water and toothpaste stuck in the nooks and crannies and under 5be brush head. I shake off and dry the entire wand with a towel after removing the head and do the same with the head and store it off the wand between brushing.

submitted byZika - 6 months ago

Q: Does this model offer 1 cleaning mode or 3 modes? The highlights say it only has daily clean mode, but the product details state that it has 3 cleaning modes.

submitted by Eleanor Shellstrop - 6 days ago
  • A: The Pro 1000 brushes come in both a 3 mode and 1 mode option, which will be noted on the brush packaging. If you aren't sure which version is available, we'd recommend following up with Target directly.

Summary of reviews

The Oral-B Pro CrossAction 1000 electric toothbrush receives mixed feedback, with guests appreciating its effective cleaning power and plaque removal capabilities. However, concerns about its noise level, lack of a travel cap, and durability issues are noted. The strong motor and circular brush head are highlighted, but some guests find the toothbrush too aggressive for sensitive teeth and gums. The design changes, particularly the on/off button, have received criticism for being less user-friendly than previous models.

I purchased on sale for my teen as a Xmas gift as she just recently got braces. So no idea yet, how well it will do with braces. I decided to buy one for myself and after the first brush I was definitely sold. I’ve had electric toothbrushes in the past but maybe I was just buying too cheap and they never lasted. I am not the best about flossing and had a couple of areas that had a little tarter buildup. After my first cleaning, it was gone. I could also immediately feel the difference between brushing with a manual vs electric. I’m still remembering the different modes, but the first one cleans the best for me but is powerful as far as feeling the vibration all through my head. I’m sensitive to that type of stuff but can make do. Overall I’m happy and recommend. I didn’t really read the reviews until after 1st use, so I’m not sure yet about the mold and rust issues I’ve been reading.

I had been looking for a good entry level toothbrush and got this as a gift. It is infinitely better than a manual and not insanely expensive. This one may not have all of the features of an expensive electric toothbrush, but it is great to get you in the game.

It cleaned my teeth well. Bought as a replacement for my old sonicare and have been using it for 6 months. Will be going back to dominate because this toothbrush is gross. I wipe the toothbrush down every time after I use it but somehow water gets trapped in the toothbrush and leaks out and leaves a white ring/mold on the charger or my counter. Every single time. I have seen other people on TikTok with this problem so I know it’s not just my toothbrush.

We’re sorry to hear you’ve noticed a residue building up on your toothbrush. We have many quality checks in place to ensure only the best products reach you. Please know we understand this is unsightly but it is likely a buildup from regular use. Even if rinsed after each use, residual toothpaste can harden over time and form a residue on your toothbrush and the replacement head. This buildup may be colored depending on your toothpaste and water hardness. In either case, this substance is not harmful and can be removed with a thorough cleaning. So that we can help you further, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

I just got my brush. The pressure sensor rarely works (if you're putting excess pressure, the pulsing only happens 1 in 5 times), the brush itself sits about 2-3mm off the base and rattles enough to the point I'm afraid I'll damage my gums.
    1 reply from Oral-B team - 24 days ago
We're so sorry to hear your Pro 1000 isn't working as you'd expect, and would like to help. Please know, we have many quality checks in place to ensure only the best products reach you. When placing your brush head, there should be a very small gap between it and the handle. The pressure sensor is designed to stop pulsations when too much pressure is applied, so it's quire unexpected that it's not happening. So that we can help you further, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

This is absolutely not worth the money. It didn’t remove a single stain from my teeth (coffee stains) whereas my $8 fake sonicare did. I obviously thought this would be better than a knockoff that stops working after 2 weeks, but it’s not. ALSO, water gets trapped beneath the brush head so I keep removing it to prevent the mold that older reviews mentioned. I thought the newer models would have addressed that issue but it doesn’t. It’s annoying to assemble your toothbrush every time you want to use it. I gave it an extra star because they included an actual charger instead of just a usb cable…but I can’t wait to return it.

Good toothbrush, good price. Oral-B was suggested to us by dentists. We stick with Oral-B so we can use the brushes interactively. Just bought this one but seems as good as predecessors. Alleged to better moderate pressure and brushing, but cannot say much about that yet. Like the black color but that wasn't what the original ad showed

I have used the Oral B electric toothbrush for years. I ordered my third one because the old one wouldn't hold a charged. I used the new one for the first time today and it kept slipping out of my hand, The old one had grip material all the way around it. The new one (1000) only has grip material on the back. Add some water and toothpaste and it slips right out.

Isa - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
I bought on target black friday 2023. I heard that electric toothbrushes were more thorough than manual toothbrushes. At first, I did not like it much and would sometimes go back to my manual toothbrush. I have long since gotten used to it in the past year. I only use the sensitive setting (two power button presses) because my teeth are sensitive. My routine is to floss, brush, then use mouthwash. I feel like applying toothpaste to my teeth and then doing the brushing allows for more even toothpaste coverage because if I don't, it seems the brush head flings the toothpaste. I charge the toothbrush every other month and keep it in my toiletry bag. I always rinse the toothbrush and brush head with water and wipe with a towel after cleaning because I heard they can grow mold if you dont. Overall, this is an ok product and i'm not sure how you could go wrong with a motor and a brush anyway.

I had the sky blue toothbrush for a couple months and started to notice black stuff would leak out of the toothbrush head. I replaced the top brush part and a week later it started again. Turns out the base isn’t waterproof enough and mold was growing in it. I’ve had other electric toothbrush’s for years and never had this problem. It’s definitely a defect with this model.

We bought an Oral-B Pro 1000 rechargeable toothbrush a few months back for its size and advertised use. The charger did not work, it would not recharge the toothbrush. No problem, we had an old charger that worked just fine. Yesterday we bought a second Oral-B1000 rechargeable toothbrush for the same reason as the first. Again, the charger doesn’t work and will not recharge the toothbrush. We are again using the old chargers we have from our old toothbrushes. We like the product but quality control of your chargers is missing.

I don’t understand how a design can be so horrible on a well-known brand. I got it because it had good reviews online. I am not pleased at all. It’s heavy and so messy and there’s mold inside the groove in the toothbrush head after a month, even though i rinse, wipe and dry the head and the base after each time I use it. Heck I even q-tip rubbing alcohol cleaned the i side of the head - mold reappeared. It’s just disgusting how you can never get the head clean. I ordered the soft brush heads because the ones that came with the toothbrush were so hard. Even the soft ones make my gums bleed and my gums never bled before. Absolutely the worst electric toothbrush I have ever used.
