A: Our Gentle Care iO replacement brush heads have soft bristles. Other versions, like our Ultimate Clean and Ultimate White replacement brush heads have medium bristles.

Design flaw. There is a hole in the neck of the brush head, over time mold builds up and it's impossible to take apart and clean. Nothing fits in there to clean. All their suggestions of rinsing, wiping and air drying don't work. Build up/mold not covered by warranty. It's a health hazard. Do not recommend.

I have been using this now for about 3 weeks. I previously had the I07. I now have the i09 and I really like it. love the features on the app because it is a great help to brushing your teeth. I am able to brush my tongue as well as my teeth. I love the tong feature. It shuts off when you have reach the appropriate time in brushing your tong. The app also lets you know if you are brushing your teeth and getting them clean by showing the progress of your brushing. The timer is great so that you don't brush too long, but just long enough to get the right cleaning. When I brush my teeth they feel so smooth and clean. There is such a difference in using the OralB i09 and using a manual toothbrush. I am glad that I have switch to the Oral B. My teeth have never felt and looked better.

I am a registered dental hygienist and I have had this brush for less than a year, using it twice daily. The power button (rubber) has fallen off and the brush will no longer charge. I also bought two other Oral B brushes for my family members—one of those will also not charge after only one week of use, and the other does charge, but no longer oscillates the brush head, rendering it useless. Between three people and three Oral B brushes, we do not have one working brush. Back to Sonicare I go.

I purchased this toothbrush November 2022 and I absolutely loved it up until recently when the battery no longer held its charge. On a full charge, it only lasts for a few seconds and dies. I paid nearly $300 and I expected it to last for several more years. I really hope a representative will help rectify this issue as I have been a loyal Oral B costumer for years.

After maybe 8 months now the toothbrush can’t hold a charge longer than 45 seconds and dies halfway through one brush. For an expensive toothbrush this should not happen. Oral B gave these to us to promote their product, needs a fix before I would recommend them to patients.

My previous Oral-B electric toothbrush lasted for 15 years. My dentist suggested this as a replacement. I bought it about 18 months ago. I missed my next two cleaning appointments (shh don’t judge) but when I went in last month they were amazed at how well the iO was maintaining my teeth at home! My dental cleaning was a breeze and I owe it all to my iO! It’s user friendly and does a fantastic job. The battery lasts a long time so I don’t always have to take my charger on trips.

This brush cleans amazing. But the heads get clogged with moldy like black crap. I have tried everything to get it from stopping. When you buy a toothbrush this expensive you expect it to be hygienic and not have mold sludge inside of the head. I had the cheaper version for years and never had this problem. I hope oral B can come up with a solution for this because other than that the brush is great but sludge in my toothbrush is a buzz kill. I know I am not the only person who has had this problem.

We're sorry to hear this. There's nothing in our toothbrush components that would cause mold. Organic material is necessary for mold growth and this type of material is not present in our brushes. Please know we understand this is unsightly but it is likely a buildup from regular use. Even if rinsed after each use, residual toothpaste can harden over time and form a black, brown, orangish/tan, pink or grey, chalk-like coating on the metal shaft of the handle, the rubber, or in the joints and other places including on the charger. Toothpaste and/or water may also collect on the brush head, handle or on the surface of the charger, leaving a residue. This buildup may be colored depending on your toothpaste and water hardness. In either case, this substance is not harmful and can be removed with a thorough cleaning. To prevent this in the future do a thorough rinse following the recommendation in your manual. Including the handle and wiping the charger. If you have questions, give us a call at (800) 566-7252.
OralB not resolving battery issue

I had the Oral-B Genius 7000 series and 5000 series for over a decade. I recently gifted the iO Series 8 which was meant to be quieter, more compact and have better battery life. I started having issues with the device after about 6 months. It would randomly switch off even though it showed battery level above 50%. I tried troubleshooting using instructions on their website which didnt help. I eventually sent it in for repairs. I was given a new toothbrush. After about 6 months with the new toothbrush I started experiencing the same issues as the old toothbrush. It would randomly switch off and need charging even though it was charged a few days earlier and the indicator showed more than 50%. Now I'm not getting assistance from Braun/Oral-B as my brush (even though its 6 months old) is no longer under warranty. I would not recommend this brush.

Product is fine but the charger is not smart. If you keep the device on the charger, which is super convenient, it will prematurely kill your battery. My toothbrush lasts no more than 5 seconds a month after the warranty expired.

I am a dental hygienist and I LOVE this toothbrush. I have used other oral b versions in the past and stopped using them for one reason or another but not this one. It feels like I'm getting a polish from the dentist every time I brush. It's sleek, it's quiet, and it's so effective. I love referring this product to my patients. Just be sure you clean under the removable toothbrush head throughout the week otherwise it'll get a little gunky. That's my one and only gripe. I have a little manual toothbrush I use to brush the inserts and tube out a few times per week and then let them air dry apart. Best electric toothbrush on the market!

I bought this for my husband who has always had some oral issues. He said this is the cleanest his mouth has felt in years. He loves the pressure sensors that tell him how hard or soft he’s brushing.
