A: The mounting plate is not included in the toy. My daughter is very sad and disappointed. (It's not that it was a missing part - Our Generation simply does not include the mounting plate.)

Q: Is a mounting plate something I can buy if the kids bike doesn't have one? Or is a mounting plate something that is already built into the bicycle? So if the bike doesn't have a mounting plate, I would have to buy one that does in order to use this?

This seat is adorable but didn’t work for my daughter’s bike. I didn’t think about it before purchasing but she has a banana seat bike so the bracket that holds the seat needs to be longer in order to attach to her bike. We can’t use it because of this. Maybe selling a specific bracket for those type of bikes would be nice.

Cute but not sturdy
The bike seat is a super cute idea but we’ve had some trouble keeping ours on the bike and the doll from wobbling around/falling out. We still use it but wish it was more stable/sturdy.

Not well built and wont stay on.
The brace support isn’t balanced well, so when a doll is in the seat, it tips to one side. The brace arm is also not quite long enough so the seat doesn’t sit where it should. Additionally, the latch from the seat to the brace is not secure, so the seat falls off with vibration of riding the bike, damaging dolls sitting in it.

The reviews on this item were not good due to the fact that you have to have a mounting plate on the bike to attach the seat. I made sure to check that our daughter's bike had one before I ordered. I definitely took a chance and I'm so glad I did! This item is so cute and she loves it. Our daughter especially loved that there was a helmet included for her doll!

Does not include mounting plate
We owned this several years ago and never installed it on my daughter’s bike. My other daughter just got it for her birthday and I remember now why we never installed the other one - you need a special mounting bracket that this doesn’t come with. I checked Amazon and cannot find one. Of the six kid bikes we have, not one has a mounting plate this can connect to. Why doesn’t it just come with a way to easily secure onto any bike? It’s useless to us as is. Will be returning.

We started adding mounts to this item several years ago. We can suggest that you take the carrier back to Target for an exchange (hoping you can find one that has the mount). Average product.
It was cute and pretty cool. I do like that it came with bike helmet and all parts to attach it, but it was really confusing to get it on and falls off SO much and had a really weak bond with the bike. Because of that I wanted to give it only 2 stars, but it was a cute product and maybe i didn't attach it right, so I compromised and gave it 3. Overall, pretty good product.
