Q: What do you mean that it is not for use under "direct heat"? It says it is for use in the oven. Also does it have a "non- stick" coating, in addition to materials it is made from?

A: Hi! Silicone baking mats are not designed for direct heat—such as placing them on the floor of a gas oven, directly under a broiler, or on a stovetop burner—because they are designed for convection/conductive heat only. We do not have a nonstick coating on the mat. It is made of Silicone.

A: Yes! The mat is floppy and does not have structure, so if your oven rack has wide set wires, then we suggest putting the mat on a baking tray to catch drips.

Makes Food Taste Weird
I’ve always loved baking mats like these, but as another reviewer pointed out it makes food taste like dish soap. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I don’t see how. My husband doesn’t seem to notice but I definitely do. I’ll probably retire the mat to the back of the cupboard to collect dust. It’s a bummer because otherwise the mat is great!

Works better than expected!
Back home I was using these other silicone baking mats for my toaster oven and sad when they stained on first use. Not this silicone mat. I was thoroughly inpressed how easy it was to clean, dishwasher proof, and left no stains. The highest temp I baked at was 425F. The things I have baked were breaded frozen foods to greasy sausages/meatballs to toasting bread. This definitely fits the large cookie sheet I had as well. It costs more than non-name brands but it it's worth it!

Good but not amazing
This baking mat is pretty good. I put my cookies on thinking no way is this going to not melt in a hot oven, but it did not melt and as far as the cookies, a few did stick a little. Parchment paper def does better with sticking but this mat does pretty good and can be reused after cleaned which is pretty cool.

Good baking sheet
So far I like this sheet. You have to wash and dry both sides well to get it totally clean but it works well! It’s not cheap but it should replace parchment paper purchases.
