Q: To prevent pregnancy stretch marks, when can I start using this product?

submitted by Madison - 3 years ago
  • A: Dear Madison, thank you for your question. It's best to use our Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks before your skin begins to stretch. Hydrating your abdomen, when you first learn your pregnant, can only help prevent stretch marks in the coming months. Of course, it will still help your skin become more elastic and supple anytime you decide to care for the areas affected by weight gain, but will it will be the most effective if you start early.

Q: Does it make the stretch marks go away? Or does it just lighten the color and visibility?

submitted by Brittanny - 4 years ago
  • A: Dear Brittanny, Thank you for your question. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks advanced formulation, with vitamin E, Lutein, Argan Oil, Coconut, as well as Cocoa Butter, softens, smoothes, and conditions your skin to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Since stretch marks are a form of scarring, and scarring is actual damage to the dermis itself, nothing can make scaring totally disappear, what can be done is to to help them fade and be less noticeable.

Q: How long does it take to get rid of stretch marks using this product?

submitted by Sophia - 4 years ago
  • A: Hello Sophia, and thank you for your question. The amount of time it takes for Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks to improve the appearance of stretch marks depends on the severity of your stretch marks. It's impossible to pin point the amount of time for each individual. Results also depend on how consistent you are using the product. While some people see results in weeks, others may take months to see improvement. However, in consumer tests 98% of people tested showed improvement in skin elasticity, texture, and tone with use.

Q: Does it ever expire?

submitted by Person - 6 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. Before opening, most of our products have a shelf life of 5 years. On the side or back of the package you should be able to see a drawing of a container with an open lid with either "12M" or "24M". This is a universal sign that the product may be used for 12 or 24 months after opening, depending on the product. If the product does not contain an active ingredient, it does not require an expiration date

Changed the Formula/Smell

I used this during pregnancy last year. And it smelled really good. Like shea butter, basically. I didn't mind it. I noticed it helped with my KP on my arms too. Was really moisturizing. Especially on my legs that get the driest before and after pregnancy. After discontinuing use for a bit due to runing out, my KP came back on my arms so I wanted to try this lotion again to see if it helped or if it was a pregnancy fluke. Dear lord, this stuff stinks now. It smells like a wet tooth pick. And it doesn't moisturize the same, either. My whole body was still so dry, yet greasy/tacky! This used to be so nourishing and great smelling. Now it smells awful and doesn't do anything for dry skin.

My go-to. It’s not a laser so it doesn’t erase stretch marks but it sure fades them and turns the red to white over time, also makes your skin so much smoother and softer, and it’s the only lotion that really lasts when you apply it to dry areas like your elbows or feet.

I’m mixed on this product. It leaves my skin super soft, smells nice and a little product goes a long way. But after using it for several months, it doesn’t do anything for my preexisting stretch marks. I wasn’t expecting it to but just in case you think it’s going to make your stretch marks lessen, it won’t.

The lotion would not absorb and start pilling.
1 reply from Palmers Team team - 3 months ago
Thank you for your feedback, Tesla. We are sorry to hear of your experience. Pilling of lotion can occur for a few reasons and there are some easy fixes to prevent this from happening: 1) Cut Back- when moisturizer balls up it be a result of applying too much product. Try using a thinner application amount 2) Take your time- Pilling can occur when you layer products on too quickly, so if you are using with another product makes sure to give it time to absorb before applying a layering formulation. We hope that these suggestions help!

Pilling of lotion can occur for a few reasons and there are some easy fixes to prevent this from happening: 1) Exfoliate -sometimes pilling is the result of dead skin cell buildup so exfoliating can help smooth out texture. 2) Cut Back- when moisturizer balls up it be a result of applying too much product. Ive been using this since I was in High School. Always smells great, not heavy scented or heavy on skin. definitely locks in moisture. the second time around i can say i had consistent use of this is when i had my son 12yrs ago. Really helped with itchyness and stretch marks. One of those things that should be in multiple housleholds.

I used this with my two pregnancies (2021 and 2023) religiously every night. I used it everywhere, not just the belly. It stays on for 24 hours, and that’s why it’s thick. The scent never bothered me. I ended up with no stretch marks, by good luck and maybe a little help from a good lotion. I rarely write reviews. I just need to offset some of these bad ones. For this price, it’s worth a shot, so try it! You might like it, as I have. I’m still using it post partum.

The lotion felt nice but the scent was absolutely horrible! It smelled like an old lady perfume! When I first tried it I didn’t realize the smell was coming from the bottle. When I went to put it on the next night I was gagging on the smell of it! It’s not worth the extra money when normal coco butter does the EXACT same job.
