Q: Silica Free? Most play sand has a Prop 65 warning for silica which is known to cause cancer. Is this sand silica Free? It doesn't explicitly say so but it also doesn't show a Prop 65 warning.

A: I doubt it is safe. Considering this company is not so transparent on how its made and the company name involves Vermiculite

Q: Is this two bags of 25 lbs each totalling 50 lbs, or is it two bags of 50 lbs each totalling 100 lbs? (it doesn't explicitly state one way or the other; it only mentions 50 lbs, which is vague)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unlike most of the sand sold as "Play Sand" or "Sandbox Sand" which has sand grains too large to stick together and often clogs our child's "sand activated" toys, this sand is much like what one might find on a Florida beach. When it's dry, it flows smoothly through children's "sand activated" toys and when it's sufficiently damp, it can easily be formed into shapes and structures.

Going to install it in a sandbox for the kids to play. It's the perfect weather for them to spend some time outside building sand castles!

I love that palmetto is an all natural sand without any warnings. The sand is so soft and I feel great letting my child play in it without any worries of harmful chemicals. I think it is expensive per bag, but you get what you pay for. It is actually priced about the same as other all natural sand products so it’s a good choice.
