Excited to use this craft kit with my kiddos! They used the made paper to write cards to family! Likes: -Neat way to show how recycled paper ‘pulp’ can make new paper items -education component -neat finished product Dislikes: -Stains fingers unless using gloves (not provided) while using sponge to absorb excess water -must use an old towel (not provided) to absorb excess water. We don’t have old towels so used paper towels as not to stain our good towels but using soo many paper towels to make paper felt wasteful…
Great kit for 10+

I think this kit is really fun for kids. My 10 year old attempted to figure it out, but she found it too frustrating. With a little help, she was able to get some paper made. The paints are vibrant and good quality.

My kid (7) enjoyed making paper with this kit. The tools are easy to use, although he needed some help getting the pulp mixed and then spreading it in the screen. The kit does say 10+ and I think that’s probably accurate, younger kids may still enjoy it but will need more help.
LOVE this kit! Pick this one or the loom!

Love this! You can mix your own colors, or even make pages multiple colors, just know that the colors may blend/bleed a bit. I was worried the kit would be lacking in the tools/materials, but it did not disappoint. The paper turned out pretty cute, I do recommend going slow when adding the colors, but remember that it will dry lighter than it looks.
Great tools, paper material could be better

I was really excited to try out this National Geographic Paper Making Craft Kit with my girls because I once made paper as a kid and really enjoyed it! This set had simple to follow instructions and also great re-useable tools and even dyes and paints to decorate your papers. There was more than enough materials to make lots of sheets of paper and also great ideas on how to make really unique pieces. The included dyes were VERY messy, so if you plan on using them, this is definitely a project for older kids or well supervised younger ones. The paper sheets did take a long time to dry out and the material used for the paper was extremely soft, so we had trouble with it tearing easily. I think this could be a really great kit if the paper material was stronger.

The paper making kit is a very fun idea. The practicality of making uniform paper leaves a bit to be desired. Following the instructions we started making plain white paper and the results were not ideal. We had fun, but the paper pulp is very clumpy and hard to make something that looks and functions like paper. Overall I would recommend it for an activity to do, but have realistic expectations of results.
equals fun, right?

I will be completely honest, you might want to do this outside or lay down tons of bags or a blanket you arent worried about. It is a bit messy! But, messy equals fun, right?! Haha! This is a very interesting set, it really allows you and your little to see a way of how paper is/can be made! It comes with everything you may need to make the project creative! Aside from water, etc., little things that you can find at home. In one of the books it conea with, it gives ideas of other things you could experiment with, by mixing it in with the 'slurry.' So, i thought that was pretty cool! We really enjoyed playing with this set and she had a blast making her own creations!
