Q: Will the 27 inch width look good on a 28 inch window opening, or will that leave too much of a gap on either side?
A: On all windows I have ever seen the glazing area is smaller than the total width of the windows as set in to the wall. Typically there is between 1 and 2" of window FRAME on either side of the glazing (glass area). On the windows in my current house there is 1.5" of frame on either side, so the glazing area is 3" smaller than the total width of the window including the frame. If you're good with 1/2" gap on either side a 27" shade will be fine with a 28" width window. You may need to install some blocking at the top where you mount the shade to make up for the smaller width of the shade vs the frame. Use plywood or some other solid wood, no OSB or particle board or any other type of "manufacture" wood product (eg glue and wood chips or sawdust). They are unsightly, do not hold paint well, and subject to water damage and damage from the movement of the shade (however slight that is) every time you open or close the shade.
submitted byPye - 3 years agoA: Hi CD - Thanks for asking! We'd suggest not using a smaller 27" Roman shade for a large 28" window. There would be too much space on the sides that it would not fully block the light shining in. We hope this helps! - Douglas
submitted byDouglas - 4 years agoTarget staff supportA: Hi, I would not recommend 27" roman shade for 28" window. It would leave some gap and could not block the light completely.

Q: For a window that’s 33.75 in width, will the 33 inch width shade be okay?
A: I’m pretty sure it would look fine. Usually you leave .25 inches on either side of a shade and this case it would only be an extra 1/8 on each side. If you like these shades I’d give it a try!
submitted byMobileAL - 7 months agoA: A 33-inch wide shade will not fit a 33.75-inch wide window, as there are many sizes that can accommodate the size of your windows.

Q: Will this fit a 27 inch window or is the shade's actual width just a bit smaller so it does not rub on the sides.
A: The size of Roman Shade is 27"W x 64"L. The Slat Depth - Front to back is 1.5". The recommended Mounting Depth is 3". The Head Rail is 27"W x 1.5"D x 2.5"H

Q: Is 27" width the actual size? The inside of my window is 27 so the shade will probably rub both sides of the window frame unless this is an 1/8th or 1/4 inch smaller.
A: Hi Ted - You have excellent taste! Yes, this easy to install window shade measures 64" long by 27" wide. If you're concerned about it rubbing your window frame, you can mount it above the window rather than inside the frame. Enjoy! - Sara

Q: Would the 31'' shade work for a 30'' window opening or will it cover the window trim?
A: Hello, the actual dimension of the 31'' shade is 1"W x 64"L. We recommend Mounting Depth is 3".
submitted byBrand Expert - 4 years agoBrand expertA: You're asking if 31" will fit 30". By simple math, 31 minus 30 is 1. Where else do you think the extra 1" would go?

Q: How do you take down/remove the shades?
A: To take down or remove the Paxton Basketweave Cordless Roman Light Filtering Shade, follow these steps: First, locate the brackets holding the shade in place, typically at the top of the window frame or above the window pane. Second, gently pull the shade’s top face fabric away from the hook and loop fastener, detaching it slightly to access the mounting area. The fabric does not need to be fully removed. Third, press or release the tabs on the brackets to unlock the shade from its mounted position. And lastly, carefully pull the shade out of the brackets to remove it from the window. If you need further assistance, please refer to the printed instructional guide included with your shade, or check the instructional video on our website.

Q: I purchased two shades but they aren’t rolling back up no matter what I do. Help!?
A: We're sorry to hear you're having trouble with your shades. Since the shades use a cordless retraction mechanism, try gently pulling them all the way down first, then smoothly raise them back up. This may reset the mechanism. If that doesn’t work, check to ensure there’s no obstruction or misalignment in the mounting hardware. If the issue persists, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to assist further.

Q: If I am installing the shade for an inside mount of a 33.75” wide window, what width shade should I purchase?
A: Thank you for reaching out. If you plan to mount it inside your window box (ceiling mount), choose 0.5-1" narrower than your actual window width; if you'd like to mount it outside of your window box, choose a size with at least 2" to add on to your actual window width. If your window depth is less than 3", we recommend the wall mount (outside mount).
