I bought this several months ago because I needed a higher volume waterer for several cats and a dog. I like the filter but there is little clearance for water volume in the basin. I get less than one inch of water. I need to make sure the bottle is NOT fully settled to accomplish this. This is a design flaw. Also I would appreciate a handle to help "grab" the bottle to settle it into the basin because it is very unwieldy otherwise.
Used many years, doesn’t scare little dog

We have had one of these filtered water bowls for our two dogs for many years. The micro ban technology really works! We chose this water bowl after a lot of trial and error as my little poodle was afraid of the noises other brands made. This gravity water bowl is very quiet and does not scare my little dog due to bubble noises. Highly recommend! The only reason I recently bought a new bowl is because my husband put the bowl on the bottom rack of the dishwasher and it got warped (doh!). We now know not to do that!
Piece broke off and ended up in the drinking bowl

I bought this item a week ago and when I went to refill it a piece of the bottle "lip" snapped off and went into the water bowl. Very upsetting as this could have been ingested by my dog.

We've had this for a month. It worked well at first but now only fills about 1/4 inch of water in the bowl. Not enough for my pets. Waste of money.

Bought a 2.5 gallon replenish water bowl from Petco a couple weeks ago. I have 3 Great Danes that drink from the bowl. Very little water comes out to fill the bowl...so little that it does not even cover the bottom of the bowl

Hello, Thank you for your review and product feedback. The cap to the waterer may be screwed on too tight. Try loosening it slightly to see if that increases the water flow. Should you require further assistance, please contact our Customer Support team at consumerservices@petmate.com

Water literally does not come out. The bottle hits the bowl and the water does not flow.

No waterflow solution

Works great. We did have a problem with waterflow though and solved it. There is a little hole in the side of the black closing cap. When the cap is (tight) on the bottle drill a hole (through the hole in the black cap) in the bottle. When the black cap is on the bottle and the holes in the bottle and the black cap line up this will get the waterflow perfectly going. Guess this is a manufacturing mistake and may just apply to a batch of the product. So just check if there is a small hole in the bottle that lines up with the hole in the black cap.

Bought two of these big 2.5l dishes from our local pet store only to discover to doesn’t dispense water. There’s definitely a design flaw with these and I wish petmate would look at all these reviews and do something about the problem.

I’ve used this before, but cracked my old bowl and replaced it with one that had a narrow neck. It made it impossible to clean the algae out of it and was hard to put in the base.

does not work -- 4 gal waterer

The 4 gallon waterer does not work. Design flaw does not allow the water bowl to fill more than 1/2 inch as the bottom of the container is to close to the bottom of the reservoir. Needs sit higher for the bowl to fill properly.

I own 3 of the Petmate Replendish, (2) of the 1 gal & (1) of the 0.5 gal for my 3 cats. I love the Peacock Blue color & the the fact that they have filters. Easy to use, easy to clean and sufficient water flow. The bottle twist-locks in place. I don’t understand the reviews of people not being able to remove the bottle, I’ve never had a problem and like that it secures in place. The bottom tray portion is top-rack dishwasher safe but the bottle itself has to be hand-washed. Very happy with my purchases!
Very disappointed

I bought this about a month ago and am so disappointed in it. The water level in the bowl does not go over about a quarter inch deep. While that is ok for my little kitties, my 65 lb dog is unable to get his tongue deep enough to pick up the water.

Ample Supply for Multiple Cats (large Tank)

Although the reservoir can be difficult to remove without marking the reservoir, marking the reservoir where the tank fits over the locking tabs on the base makes the task much easier to remove. Rotating the reservoir in either direction engages the tabs and keeps the reservoir in place.

we have 2 of these, they work. the plastic top is not well attached to the bottom of the bowl. the tank is hard to separate from the bottom but it does hold a lot of water, and we have 3 large dogs that drink a lot of water. not many other options out there for this product.
I can get my hand inside to clean it.

This unit replaced a different type that I had for about 2. The old one could not be placed outside -- algae. The waterer I purchased did have instructions. I found it easy to assemble and use (for my dog - that is). The filter was a pleasant surprise. A bit pesky to open though.
