A: Great question, Debbie! Although some customers choose not to use the installation screws for temporary installation, we do recommend using them as they provide more stability.
A: Yes. That said, it is sometimes difficult to do so because if you have a recessed frame and your track is a type with a guide in the middle than the bracket will not fit properly unless there is lots of space on either side of the guide. I was only able to mount the top bracket as a result.
A: No. I just popped mine in since I needed it on my second story floor and didn’t feel the need to use a locking mechanism other than a bar in the door track. But You do have the option to securely screw it in.
A: Thank you for reaching out with this question. Yes, you can use the petdoor's locking mechanism rather than the one that is currently on your door.
A: You cannot use the blocking mechanism that is on your sliding glass door. You must mount the lock included with the product as well as drill a hole in the stationary portion of your sliding glass door in most cases. Personally, as a renter I was unable to do any drilling like that so I just got a bar to put down.
A: Did it come tall enough? my door is also 94" high, but there's no selection to choose the taller option.
A: We apologize you were having trouble identifying the door that you need. If you would like you can always reach out to our customer care team for assistance in identifying the door you need at 1-800-732-2677 Mon. - Fri. 8am - 7pm ET
A: Yes, but the locking mechanism on the sliding glass door will not work and the seal that is formed between the sliding glass door frame and the door itself does not work for my door. I am having to caulk in the pet door so that it will seal better and also have had to buy weather stripping to put on the inside where the door frame meets the pet door frame.
A: Thank you for the great question! The sliding glass door is still usable to enter and exit. It is recommended to also install the lock that is included in the packaging to lock your sliding glass door to the patio panel.
A: Thank you for your great question, Beaty. This pet door will fit in a vinyl door as long as the door meets the measurement requirements. However, it is very important to note that vinyl is far more brittle compared to wood or metal sliding door frames. Due to this, we advise that extra caution must be taken when screwing the pet door into place to avoid damaging the sliding glass door frame. A: Thank you for asking. This door is adjustable up to 80 11/16 inches and would not fit a sliding glass door of this size.
A: Thank you for asking about this, Kat! Though the version shown here is for doors 75 7/8 - 80 11/16", we do have a taller version of this panel which fits doors 91 7/16 - 96". If you have any questions about this, please get in touch with us! Our number is 1-800-732-2677, and our hours are Monday through Friday 8 A.M.- 7 P.M. EST.
A: Thank you for your question! The shortest adjustable height for the Freedom Aluminum Patio Panel is 75 7/8 in.
A: Thank you for your great question. There are two height options for this door. One is adjustable between 77 and 81 inches, the taller is adjustable between 91 and 96 inches. We're sorry for any confusion.
A: Thank you for your question! It sounds like the springs inside the height adjuster may have moved out of alignment. Please reach out to our Customer Care Center at 1-800-732-2677 for further assistance with this matter.
