Q: Will these attach to the avent soothie elephant with the original shape soothie?

submitted by Canpingru - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello! Yes, you can attach most common pacifier clips with thin string to the hole on the front tab. You can also attach it to our Snuggle toy, by placing the tab through the similar-shaped hole in the Snuggle’s mouth. Warning: Do not tie pacifier around child's neck as it presents a strangulation danger.

This is the only papi she will take that she actually likes. I have tried numerous different brands but she will only take this one. I could not find them at any local stores so I actually went to the Phillips website and ordered her first set. I am now ordering more because these are wearing out and we have lost a few. I highly recommend these Avent paps for any babies they are perfect.

Why is it so hard?

I’ve had two babies who used soothies in the past but with our new baby we went with another brand because we wanted a latex pacifier (please consider making a latex soothie!). She loves the brand we chose but I decided to try her on a soothie since the shape is said to be better for developing mouths. I got the two pack of soothie hearts in 3-18 month since our little one is about 3.5 months old. The first thing that strikes me about it is how *hard* the silicone is. It’s velvety soft to touch but too hard to get a good grip without sucking very hard. My baby likes chewing it but doesn’t seem to know how to suck it, which is concerning because I know having to suck very hard on a paci is what contributes to the negative impacts of using pacifiers. I know for a fact the previous versions of this pacifier we’ve used were not this hard. I’m going to keep trying with it to see if she learns to use it but still concerned that it will mess up her palette.

Cute but very firm

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend

Compared to the classic Avent Soothies, these are a much firmer material. Unfortunately my daughter took well to them at first, but after being given a regular Soothie in the hospital, she would no longer take them. They’re very cute and of course super easy to clean and sterilize since they’re all one piece of silicone. Wish they worked for us!

Did not work for us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Unfortunately my son did not take to this pacifier. He's not a huge fan of pacifiers in general but he didn't seem to enjoy this one at all. He likes a different shape for the nipple, so unfortunately this pacifier did not work for us. I still plan on keeping it as it seems well made and his tastes could change in the next few months.

Soothie Pacifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2-month-old baby really liked the Soothie. It was the only pacifier she wouldn't spit out within a few seconds of sucking on it which was surprising to me because it is a bit heavier than other pacifiers I have used with her. The shape was excellent. I have used other pacifiers that have the round shape and they can be a bit awkward. With this Soothie the shape fits under my baby's nose and fits comfortably around her lips, cheeks, and nose. One thing that I was a bit frustrated with was how things clung to it. If it fell on the floor or on the couch, hair and dirt would cling to it and the only way to get it off was to rinse it off. Other than that, it was a great product and I would definitely use it with future babies. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pacifier set.

Adorable and Soft

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this pacifier set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I wasn’t sure if my little one would take this paci since he has only liked one type out of all the ones we’ve tried so far. He took it right away! I actually prefer this one over his other favorite because it’s one piece. I don’t have to worry about water getting trapped inside or between plastic pieces. This pacifier is easy to clean. I use dish soap and water to clean it daily. I pop it in the dishwasher weekly to be sanitized. I love the adorable heart shape and how soft it is. It sits nicely below his nose and curves on the sides to fit perfectly on his little chubby cheeks. The soft silicone doesn’t leave marks on his face like the other plastic one does. The 2 pack is really convenient. We like to keep one in his crib for naps/nighttime and use the spare while he’s awake. The concern that I do have is how heavy it is. Even though he seems to like it, it has taken him a little while to learn how to keep it in his mouth without it falling out. Overall I have been pleased with this pacifier and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Great Pacifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since coming home from the hospital over 6 weeks ago there is only 1 pacifier our son has wanted and that's the Avent pacifier we got from the hospital (green pacifier in the photos.) When given the opportunity to review this new Avent pacifier from the Stellar Product Testing Panel we were thrilled (blue pacifier in the photos.) ! We can't find a pacifier like we got and hoped this would allow us to have a backup! While we loved this new pacifier, our son is unfortunately incredibly picky. The pacifier from the hospital and the one we received to test, while similar, did have a few differences. The tester is slightly heavier, thicker, larger and thr nipple is a little shorter (which was my favorite part.) We're keeping the tester in hopes we can trick our son into taking it.

Newborn loves it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little concerned at first that this was too big for our newborn's mouth (and it does fall out easily but right now, all pacifiers do). He ended up taking to it well and it hasn't interfered with breast feeding. Our LO is only 2 weeks old but so far it's going good! It's also helped so much with diaper changes because he used to scream before we introduced the pacifier. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Avent Soothie Heart aka a moms lifeline

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ahh... the witching hour. Those lovely hours in the evening were your wee one wants nothing but to be held and in my case cluster feed. The avent soothie heart pacifer helps soothe my youngest so I can have a few minutes to help my older children wash up from dinner, which is a lifesaver. I would have given it five stars but it seems a little big for preemie babies faces and I wish it came in a slightly small size. However my little will grow into it and it is an adorable shade of blue. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pacifier set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My little one loved this pacifier she took to it without any troubles and seemed very comfortable with it. It’s easy to clean and the heart shape is a bonus so it looks cute while my baby is using it. I use baby soap to clean the Paci and then I let it air dry. Great product will be purchasing a few more.

Great pacifier just not babies favorite nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Stellar Reviews for inviting us to test this product. To start off the shape of these pacifiers is cute and trendy, an absolute must these days. We loved the soft silicone and how easy to clean they were. We could just hand wash them and there isn't any concern of dirt getting trapped in moving parts or whatnot. However, our baby wouldn't take to the soothie. The nipple is not as bulb-shaped as she would like it to be and it fell out of her mouth too much to be useful. All in all, we would recommend these pacifiers and have used them before for our oldest child. We think you just have to find what your baby likes best.

Great for Preemies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was especially interested in trying the Avent Soothies for my preemie. I love that there is a dip in the middle of the top to leave plenty of airflow in front of a tiny person’s nose. Other pacifiers block that area and make me nervous. I also appreciate that there is a hole on the tab that allows a pacifier clip to be attached without using the two bigger holes in the sides. This seems a little safer to me. Overall, this is a great pacifier for tiny babies!

Good pacifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to receive these pacifiers through the Stellar Product Testing Panel! These have the cutest heart shape that doesn’t smack my baby’s nose, and hold up very well in the dishwasher I love that they’re silicone and only have one piece, so nothing can break off. I love that I can use my finger to try and keep it in his mouth when he keeps accidentally pushing it out with his tongue. My baby currently is giving us grief about taking any kind of pacifier, so I’m not sure if this is one we’ll end up using long term. My only complaint is that the hole to hook some kind of “leash” is very, very small. But I do like that it has one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received these pacifiers as a stellar panel tester and we are 100% Giving this pacifier 5 stars! The shape allows my baby to still breathe doesn’t block her nose at all! The shape is so cute as well. We love the nipple shape as well and my breast fed baby did so well with it. Although i was nervous to switch pacifiers, the shape and nipple size were a great transition! I will definitely buy more of these!

Great pacifier design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through Stellar Product Testing Pannel. I love the shape and design of this pacifier. The silicon is a little softer than traditional pacifiers and the curved shape seems to better mimic the way a breast molds to baby’s face during nursing. Unfortunately my kiddo has a strong preference towards natural rubber pacifiers. While she did latch to this pacifier (which is better than most other silicon versions), she did not maintain it. I will very likely purchase this silicon pacifier as a gift for friends or family over any other silicon pacifier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pacifier checks all the boxes! I love that it’s one solid piece. Super easy to clean. We just hand wash and air dry. My baby has done best with this one. It shapes to his mouth exactly. Also I have to comment on the simplicity of the design. I love Thats it’s not “boy” or “girl” designed with pictures or graphics. I received this as a part of the stellar product testing panel.

Great classic pacifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pacifier for review purposes as a member of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As with all of the other Avent products we’ve tried, this pacifier is well made and a great staple in baby care! It’s not the preferred shape of pacifier that my son loves (he prefers one with a larger bulb) but as a mom, there are several features I really appreciate. First is the ability to toss it in the dishwasher. Not only does this make it easy to clean (I love not having to worry about water getting stuck in the bulb like with some other pacifiers!) but it also means I can sterilize them easily. I also love that the heart shape fits comfortable on his face under his nose, and the gentle curve of the pacifier hugs his face without obstructing his airways. Overall this is a great pacifier that’s worth a try. If your little one takes to this pacifier shape, then you’ve got a great product and I’d highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used Soothie pacifiers for all three of our children - it is actually what they gave our first daughter in the NICU and we've used them ever since. Our 3 month old loves this heart shaped one - it is super cute and the cut out is actually very functional for the way it fits her little face! I love that it is one piece which makes it a breeze to clean. We also have one of the Avent Snuggle animals and this connects perfectly. I keep a bunch of these in our diaper bag when we're on the go and then just swap out the pacifier if the other one hits the ground. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for letting my family try this pacifier!

Better than the Original

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Second time Mom here. I have a 6 week old and from day one she has preferred the Phillips Advent pacifiers over any other brand. Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel, I have had the chance to try out the Phillips Advent Heart Pacifier. Instead of the flat, round shaped original Phillips Advent Pacifier, this pacifier is shaped like a heart. I like the shape better because I can see my daughters nose instead of it being covered up. The heart shaped pacifier has more of a curved shape, so that it rests on my daughters face more comfortably. Also, there are no indentions on the pacifier where spit up can get built up on it like the original Phillips Advent pacifier has, so it’s easier to clean!
