Description

The Philips Avent Fast Baby Bottle Warmer SCF358/00 is an easy way to make mealtime more comfortable for baby. It gently heats a 5 ounce bottle in as few as 3 minutes. Milk circulates continuously while it's warming, so the warmer - unlike a microwave - won't cause hot spots. The warmer can be used not only to warm milk, but also to defrost frozen breast milk and baby food. It is compatible with all Philips Avent bottles, bottles from most other leading brands, and baby food jars. The Philips Avent Fast Baby Bottle Warmer allows you to set it and forget it! Sensors automatically adjust the heating pattern for different milk volumes and starting temperatures, so the warmer hits the right temperature every time with the push of a button. It also keeps milk warmed to the desired temperature for up to 60 minutes. After 60 minutes it automatically shuts off to prevent overheating, giving you peace of mind if you get distracted or fall asleep after a late night feeding. The front panel is intuitive and easy to read with clear guidance on setting by milk volume for accurate results. A progress light lights up in three segments, indicating the warming progress and when milk is ready. The warmer is compact so it's easy to store on a kitchen counter or bedside table for nighttime feedings. Always test milk or food temperature before giving to babies. If you're using a silicone bottle, add 3 - 4 minutes to warming time. *Warms 5 ounces of milk in 3 minutes.

Q: Does this work with Comotomo bottles?

submitted by NikkiT - 4 years ago
  • A: Hello! Philips Avent Fast bottle warmer SCF358/00 is compatible with any Philips Avent bottles, storage cups, as well as most commercially available baby bottles and jars which fit in the bottle warmer.

  • A: Yes. I own both Browns, Avents, Comotomo and MAM. All work, but milage may vary on settings needed for warming. Comotomo's silicone takes a bit to warm up, so follow instructions and letting the bottle sit in the bath for 2-4 minutes additional to warm it up.

Have this for both my house and in laws. Haven’t had issue with it overheating the milk like others. Sometimes it’s still a little cold when heating our 6oz bottles, but I just leave it in a little longer and it’s fine. It is a little slow, so we always make sure to start warming a bit before feeding time.

We purchased this product so I (the father) could give my daughter re-heated breast bottles overnight. Every single time the Philips Advent has over-heated the milk until the point of damaging it (over 115F - meant to be at around 98F) resulting in a perfectly good batch having to be binned and my poor wife having to wake up. Even when setting to a lower volume it still over heats. I will be putting this product in the bin along with the wasted milk. Avoid!!!

We’ve used this bottle warmer( it doesn’t warm bottles) for a little over 2 months. I’ve gone round and round with this bottle warmer, read the instructions multiple times and nothing seems to work. It takes way too long to “warm” a bottle and when the time goes off it might be on the cool side of room temperature. This is incredibly infuriating when your child is screaming for their bottle at 3am and it takes what feels like 20 minutes to get a cold bottle. Don’t waste your time, money or sanity on this product.

I like this bottle warmer. The negative reviews seem to not know how to follow the instructions. You place the bottle with the amount of fluid you need, turn the dial to the amount of fluid in the bottle, fill the warmer to the same level as the fluid inside the bottle with ROOM TEMP WATER, press power button. If you leave the bottle in the warmer, the water on the outside continues to warm the liquid inside the bottle. Its how heat transfers work. The only thing I don't like about this is that it doesn't beep when it's done warming so you kind of have to babysit it

We had this for about 2 weeks and then decided to return it. It can be useful and it does the job but we ended up just putting hot water in a mug and warming up our bottles the old fashioned way. It is useful but will end up being an extra appliance at home so keep that in mind.

I've been using this warmer since my son was ~4 months old. When used as directed, it overheated the milk WAY beyond the recommended limit of 104 F. I just did a test with a 6-oz bottle of ice-cold water and it heated it to a whopping 126 F(!). I'm reluctantly giving 2 stars because it worked well enough once I started only using the 1oz or 2oz setting regardless of bottle size, but only after accidentally overheating countless bottles when using the "correct" setting. It's been a number of months since I first became aware of this issue (I'm just now writing the review because motherhood) so I tested it again. I filled a Dr. Brown's narrow-neck glass 8-oz bottle with 6 oz of water, chilled with ice to 44 F. I set the warmer to the 6-oz setting and filled it all the way to the top with water because the "milk" (water) in the bottle was above the top of the warmer, then turned it on. At one point during the heating process, the water was actually starting to boil so I knew this wasn't going to go well. As soon as the light stopped blinking, I immediately removed the bottle and measured the temperature. As mentioned above, the water inside the bottle measured 126 F -- 22 degrees above the level at which nutrients supposedly start to break down. I don't know if water and milk heat differently, but I do know this is consistent with the experience I had with milk. I'm beyond upset about the number of times I may have destroyed nutrients in the breastmilk I worked so hard for. What makes it extra disappointing is that I specifically sprang for this model because it claimed to have a temperature sensor and I really wanted to avoid overheating the milk. If I could do it over again, I would save my money and buy a cheaper model and just test carefully the first few times I used it. I've attached photos showing the bottle contents and temperature before and after. I would expect much better from the brand and price point.

Hi there, This is not the experience we want you to have with the Bottle Warmer. There are several reasons why the milk from your Philips Avent fast bottle warmer may not reach the desired temperature. For best results, use room-temperature water when filling the bottle warmer. Adjust the water level and setting based on the amount of milk in the bottle, not the bottle's capacity. In most cases, filling the bottle warmer with water slightly above the level of the milk in the bottle is enough. If you're warming a large amount of milk, fill the bottle warmer to 1 cm (0.4 in) below the rim. Also, place the bottle into the bottle warmer before filling it with water (refer to the section above for guidance) and only switch on the bottle warmer after following these steps. Adding the bottle after switching on the device will change the final milk temperature. Lastly, the recommended heating times for your Philips Avent fast bottle warmer are based on polypropylene bottles. Glass bottles may heat more quickly, while silicone bottles heat more slowly. When using a silicone bottle, allow it to warm for an additional 3-4 minutes after the warming cycle. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via social media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use social media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. This product is perfect for warming the milk bottles. It warms it very quickly to a temperature that is perfect for baby to drink. It also stays on for an hour, meaning if baby doesn't want to take it immediately, it won't cool down. The warming is silent and so it won't disturb baby. Overall, amazing product that I wish I had bought sooner!

I purchased this a few weeks ago and thankfully my mom noticed that the temperature was extremely hot. We tested the temperate and it was 120 degrees. To my understanding this should not heat past body temperature. I tried switching it to a lower setting of ounces, but breastmilk still heated well past 98. Unfortunately this ruins the nutritional and immunological value and can be unsafe for my baby. Wish I didn't have to monitor it with a thermometer guage.

Hi, your product is a piece of junk with horrible instructions and no clear indicator of whether it's working or not. Something that should be the simplest of items to operate is something that instead makes my blood pressure skyrocket. It would be nice if just once the instructions were written by someone who has seen or used the product in any capacity. Instead it seems like they are made by someone from another planet. Some sort of beep or click or sound to indicate the machine is working would go a long way in making this a better product. Consider me thoroughly agitated and disappointed.
