Description

Philips Avent Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural bottle is made from polypropylene, a BPA free material, and works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Includes: 3 4oz Natural bottles with Natural Response nipples, flow 2. SCY900/93

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Q: What flow number is needed for newborns?

submitted by jgk - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi there! The flow rate of milk they get from the nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Enthusiastic drinkers use a strong suction and compression while drinking, resulting in greater milk flow, so they usually need a lower nipple flow from the Natural Response range (such as nipple number 1 or 2) to avoid overflow. Slow and steady drinkers are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple 4 or 5), to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age.

This bottle worked really well for my family. I like the compact size, but it still has the capacity to for about 6 ounces. It never leaks like the glass ones tend to do. I can even attach them to my pump and pump directly into them. Some reviewers commented on the slow flow of the nipple. We did not find that to be a problem. My baby likes to chug down a bottle, and the nipple forces him to slow down, which prevents gas and helps him to realize that he is full.

No leaks, no colic! Mother of 4 here. For my 2nd and 3rd kid, we used Dr. Browns bottles and mostly always experienced leaks (when using the insert which was the first 3 months) hated them but never replaced them. After the insert was no longer in use, bottles experienced no leaks and we were satisfied. These bottles are fantastic. My son has taken to them easily, they have no leaks, cause no gas nor colic and are easy to wash and sterilize. If I would go back and replace my dr brown experiences, it would be with the exact bottles!

Initially liked the design (easy to clean) and nipple is supposed to mimic a breast. But feeding takes forever and makes your baby work way too hard, like 2 oz in 30 mins hard. Have 4 bottles that we’ll no longer use.

We have been trying to use these bottles for 2 weeks now, and it is more painful than changing diapers. Our baby will suck for 20 minutes and not a single drop comes out, even with the vents matching up. I wouldn’t recommend these bottles to anyone and have officially thrown our entire sets of these bottles in the trash.

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have with the Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle. We recommend trying a nipple with a higher flow rate, as some babies may be accustomed to bottles where milk flows more easily. However, it's important to note that our natural nipples are designed to mimic the experience of breastfeeding, where babies need to exert some effort to extract milk. It takes forever to get any liquid out if these at any nipple level. We have several versions of the Avent bottle, and they all are awful and slow. Very upsetting. Our twins use Dr Browns and we LOVE them.

Run away fast

Turn away and run fast. I used these bottles in 2020 with my daughter and loved them. But now it’s 12/23 and these bottle nipples have changed and are awful. Takes forever to try to feed baby (1month plus nipple takes about 45 minutes for two ounces) and when you go up a nipple it’s too much. There is no happy medium. Had to switch bottle brands because my newborn was frustrated. Sad they changed the nipple. Have no problems with the new bottles and feeding. I’m out money on the bottles and nipples I bought.

Love this bottle. It allows me, a breastfeeding mom, to leave my kiddo with dad or grandma and give them the ability to feed our kiddo. They are easy to clean and with a baby who is colicky with other bottles, including Dr. Browns, it’s an easy decision to make. Having little parts to clean makes it an A+ from me a tired mom.

It’s very difficult for my newborn to get anything out of the bottle.
1 reply from Philips team - 4 months ago
Hi Rueshell, thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We're sorry to hear that your little one is having difficulty getting milk out of the Philips Avent Baby Bottle. Please know that we’ve created our new nipple to work more like a breast, so the milk only flows when your baby actively drinks. If your baby is already used to the previous natural nipple or even another traditional bottle, they may need a higher nipple flow in the Natural Response nipple because they are used to milk flowing quickly with less effort. If you require further assistance, please get in touch with us via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and X. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

I don't understand why there is no many bottles, however I did chose this one and we'll realized that it suppose to be anticholinergic and my son is having a hard time not only with that but he chocked on the formula because the fluid comes out to fast just suppose to be slow but you barley suck on it and it flows fast.
