Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 1 4oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 2. SCY910/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

I like that they are glass bottles, but for some reason both of my babies have had the most difficult time getting anything from the bottles. We’ve tried 3 different types of Avent bottles and different nipple sizes, but none of them have worked well. Our newborn will just keep sucking and sucking with nothing coming out.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that the Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Bottle hasn't worked well for your babies. This is not the kind of experience we want you to have with our product. Please note that our new Natural Response Nipple lets your baby use their natural drinking rhythm, like they do when breastfeeding. While age is a guide, we recommend watching your little one’s cues to find the best nipple flow. We designed the nipple range to work for all different drinking patterns, from fast and enthusiastic to slow and steady. The Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5. The flow rate of milk they get from the nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Slow and steady drinkers are likely to prefer a higher nipple flow (such as nipple 4 or 5) to ensure enough milk flows, regardless of age. We hope this is useful to you. If you have any further questions or the problem still persists, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We're available 24/7 on Facebook and X. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

I don’t know why Phillips designed the threads on the bottle and lid the way they did. They make it very difficult to close the bottle without leaks and the problem is getting progressively worse with use. My baby is 4 weeks old, and in that four weeks one bottle lid is now completely unusable. It pops off the threads as you twist it before the bottle is even sealed.

I have tried several bottles for our baby since she was born, and every bottle and nipple combo was way too fast of a flow for her. This is the first bottle/nipple combo I have found that milk doesn’t leak out the sides of her mouth from her getting too much. I actually feel good that my baby can eat comfortably finally.

My favorite baby bottle! Holds up well over time and it makes me feel at ease that baby is using a glass bottle over a plastic one. Also, glass bottle means more durability & you can use it from child to child by changing the nipples. Also, extremely easy to clean.

Great overall but one issue

3 out of 5 stars
Natalie - 8 months ago, Verified purchaser
I love everything about these bottles, they’re cute and neutral, love that they are glass. They are way sturdier than the other haaka glass bottles that I have that are twice the price. I will say after looking at other reviews online that you will want to size up a nipple or two with these as the nipple it comes with is WAY too slow even for newborns. My main complaint is that they LEAK! There’s nothing worse than forgetting to check the lid on these and the entire bottle getting dumped out. Definitely a design flaw, half of the time the lids do not screw on straight. I notice this especially if I have to warm the bottle up. It pops the lids and causes it to go crooked, and you have to try to re-screw on the lids over and over again before it finally stops popping side ways and goes on straight! That’s the only way I know how to explain the issue, but it’s definitely annoying, especially if you have a hungry crying baby waiting for their bottle. Another thing to note for moms wanting to avoid plastic, the lid is plastic and does start to fray over time, though no milk touches the plastic. Other than that inconvenience, they are very sturdy bottles.

The nipple is strangely proportioned and makes it difficult for baby to get a proper latch. Also we've had a few of them randomly pop open mid feed and dump the contents all over baby. We prefer the Evenflo glass bottles, they never leak and are easy for baby to latch onto.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple. This is not the kind of experience we want you to have with our product. Please note that the Natural Response Nipple is different because it works like the breast and the flow is controlled by the baby. Milk flow stops and starts based on your baby's drinking rhythm. For some babies, it can take a few tries to get used to a nipple that doesn't always free-flow. Please make sure you pull the nipple through until its lower rim is even with the screw ring while assembling the bottle to avoid leakage. We hope it's helpful. If you have any further questions or the problem still persists, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We're available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Do not buy these! Your baby will wear themselves out trying to get anything out of the nipple. I felt terrible when I finally realized it was an issue with the nipple and not my baby. These are trash.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have twins and at this time they are taking more than 4oz per feed typically so this bottle needed to be refilled. That being said, when on the go it was great to have as it can be packed easily! My babies were okay with the wide-nipple but I think they prefer narrow. If your baby likes wide nipples they will likely enjoy this bottle. The nipple level doesn't seem to correspond with other brands so I found that a little confusing to figure out what level they needed. I am super fortunate to have received this bottle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I will likely purchase nipples for these bottles as they need the higher levels as I mentioned they are great for not taking up space!

Great bottle for breastfed babies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried several bottle brand to use with my breastfed baby. I was using a certain brand with a silicone body but I didn’t like it because it seems too flimsy and did not stand up. I was given this bottle to test as part of the Stellar Product testing panel and thankful as it’s a better option than the one I was using before. I supplement breastfeeding with pumped milk and formula. My baby accepted it right away and was able to switch from breast to bottle within the same feed without any fuss. I liked that the shape of the nipple allowed my baby to have the proper latch similar to the breast. It also mimic the responsiveness while breastfeeding, allowing her to pause and pace herself. Another part of the nipple that I liked was the no drip tip. With other bottles, I would sometimes splash some milk in her face, which got messy. This bottle was the least that gave her gas. A small burp and she would be relieved. With other bottles, she would release several big burps, so I know this Philips Avent Glass Natural Glass bottle reduces colic and gas. The shape of the bottle was comfortable for my hand and did not feel like it would slip if my baby moved while feeding. This bottle is low maintenance, it’s easy to clean and there aren’t a lot of parts to put together. It’s an over all good design with functionality that’s a good choice for breastfed babies.

Great glass bottles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for testing through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This is the first time I used a glass bottle and they are surprisingly not as heavy and felt more durable than I thought (my toddler wants to help out with everything now). Will need to use it for longer to see if it would also develop a permanent milk film like the plastic bottles. Right now the markings are very clear which is super important for me. The silicone nipple feels soft and my little one (4 months old) is taking on it well, but the flow is a bit slow, probably time to upgrade (I am testing the level 2 of 0 months+). You could probably skip through the nipple levels pretty quickly. My baby doesn’t have colic but had been gassy and spits milk quite often. This bottle does seem to work well for us so far than some of other popular brands we tried, but might be even better once we upgrade to a faster flow nipple which we have already ordered online now!

PHILIPS AVENT BOTTLES

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set. When using the bottle my initial thought was how much I enjoyed the bottle size and the fact that it was glass. The size of the bottles are compact and great for traveling! The nipple tip worked wonders with my baby who also is breastfed. I find other bottles have to much of a flow making him spit up most of the milk. The no-drip tip allowed him to take his time drinking and had zero spill. These are easily my favourite bottles!

The bottles are great and everything and they work great. The only problem is the glass breaks fast. I have other brand bottles that have lasted me months without breaking by accident, these bottles broke from just sterilizing them. It’ll be great if aren’t just sold the glass bottle it’s self as a replacement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve received this product as part of the Stellar Product Panel. I’ve always wanted to try glass bottles with my first two babies and am finally able to with my third. They don’t get smelly like plastic bottles eventually do and I don’t have to worry about plastic breaking down and throwing it away after. They are also easy to clean and attach to my Philips Avent pump. I plan on moving on to bigger glass ones by Philip Avent when my baby needs it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These glass bottles are beautiful. Most bottles look a bit cheap and flimsy, but these shine. They are the first bottles that have looked attractive sitting on my counter. These bottles are so easy to assemble and clean. There are 3 pieces plus the protective cap. They are simple to wash in the sink and then run through the sterilizer. The design of the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle is very thoughtful. The indentations in the glass make it easy to grip while cleaning or feeding your baby. The nipple on the bottle is supposed to mimic a breast. Since my son is breastfed 99% of the time, this was very important to me. I liked that the nipple allowed him to control when the milk came out of the bottle. I have found that other bottles drip or leak, and this one didn't at all. My son took this nipple no problem. He rarely has gas or discomfort, so I didn't notice any difference in that area from using this bottle. The only issue I saw was that he didn't seem to be able to get milk as quickly as he drinks it from my breast. The bottles I received were a 0m+, and my baby is 3+ months, so I believe that was the issue. I should have been using the 3m+, so definitely pay attention to the flow rate of the bottles you are purchasing! Overall I would recommend this to any parent with a breastfed baby who wants a glass bottle. The design and nipple are the most comfortable and realistic that I have tried. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set.

Durable. Doesn't drip. Glass is a lot better to use than plastics. Only downfall when I used on my 2 month old is his pinky got stuck between the lid and the glass bottle. If I had not paid attention I could have easily hurt his pinky if I pulled away.

Ideal for breastfeeding moms

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I exclusively used the Phillips bottles with my first and was excited that the Stellar Product testing panel sent me a box of these to try out the new natural response nipples. We used them primarily as top ups after a feed while establishing breastfeeding after our son had his tongue tie released. Like breastfeeding, it took a bit for him to learn how to use his tongue properly, but it was great at helping him learn to actively suck. The glass bottles were great for easy cleaning and didn’t get filmy the way that plastic bottles sometimes can. I highly recommend for any mom who wants to keep breastfeeding, with the option of leaving a bottle so you can still go out for a much deserved mom’s night out.

I’ve been using them several times a day for my newborn. It is great that the bottles are glass and not plastic. The cap on the glass bottles grip to the bottle well and they don't leak as many other differentbottles that I had used before. The nipples were easy for the baby to use. I likes that the bottles come in different sizes. This way we can switch and try the different nipple options. Also, the bottles are easy to clean, which is a big advantage. Overall I am satisfied with the product.

Avent Natural Response Nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a sample from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and as a breastfeeding mom it's important to me that my baby doesn't end up preferring bottles. The Avent natural response nipple is perfect for this! The flow is good as it's similar to breastfeeding and she has to work to get the milk out. I found this bottle and nipple easy to clean and put together as the nipple is all one piece unlike some other brands with many pieces to the nipple to get the same effect. I like that it doesn't drip when tipped so my precious milk doesn't go to waste and my baby can pace herself and feed at the speed she wants to. I would definitely recommend this product to any parent, but especially those supplementing during breastfeeding!
