Description

Philips Avent Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. The Natural bottle is made from polypropylene, a BPA free material, and works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. Includes: 3 9oz Natural bottles with Natural Response nipples, flow 3. SCY903/93

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Q: This nipple does not seem to allow any flow compared to the old design. Baby takes over an hour to drink hardly one ounce, unlike 4 ounces in 5 minutes with the old design. Tried three sizes -1, 2, 3.

submitted by Projecteron - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi! The different nipples in each range let your baby drink at their preferred pace so you can find one that best suits your baby. Our new Natural Response Nipples release milk only when your baby actively drinks while our Anti-Colic nipples are free flowing. Age indication can be a helpful guidance, but always follow your baby's cues. Start with the nipple that comes with the bottle. We'd like to assist you further, please leave us a private message on Facebook or Twitter. You can also reach out to us at 1-800-682-7664.

Q: Can I warm the bottle up in the microwave without the lid on?

submitted by anonymous - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi! Only place the container in the microwave, without the screw ring, nipple or cap. Warming infant food or beverages in a microwave is not advised. Food and beverages that have been microwaved may lose important nutrients and may reach high local temperatures. Ensure that heated food and beverages are properly stirred to ensure even heating if you do opt to use the microwave. Before serving, always check the temperature.

Poor attachment between the bottle and the plastic nipple ring results in spillage
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 14 days ago
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your review, and we're sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle is leaking. We would like to inform you that incorrect assembly causes leakage in 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is properly inserted through the screw ring and securely tightened on the bottle without being overtightened. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close as they may slip. Therefore, it is best to dry the bottle before closing it. You may also find more information on how to prevent leakage by following this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjytab_9-hU. We hope this helps address the problem. If the problem persists, please reach out to us via social media. We are available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). If you do not use social media, you can also reach us through the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

These new style nipples do NOT work! Ive had to use the same ones that i bought second hand because absolutely NOTHING comes out of the new batch ones! Its ridiculous that ive tried just about every number and its all the same results! Waste of money and effort! Sadly these are the only bottles my baby likes .. with the old nipples of course.

Hi Momejay, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish your baby had with our Natural nipples. We would like to inform you that our Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5. Please be informed that it may take some time for your baby to adjust from a traditional nipple to a Natural Response Nipple. We would like to assist you further with your concern. Please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Miracle Bottle

Ashley - 1 month ago
With the return of my period, my milk supply has dropped and our poor 4 month old baby girl has been having some green poops, cluster feeding daily for almost 2 weeks, and been frustrated at my lack of milk. We've tried feeding her my expressed breast milk and formula from the other bottles we had on hand, and she has been angrily refusing them time and time again. Today, I had the thought to buy these bottles and give them a try, and within 2-3 seconds of her reluctantly trying out these bottles, she started gulping down my breast milk from the bottle. She then smiled at a bottle for the first time in months. When realizing my breasts were pretty empty of milk this evening she happily drank from this bottle instead. It was a night and day difference to how she's been acting with all other bottles. When we put her to bed tonight, our daughter didn't fuss or cry but COOED for the first time going to bed. Thank the Lord and thank whoever invented these bottles/nipples! She doesn't have to drown in constantly dripping milk and can take all the breaks she needs and wants! And she can suck in the same way she does at the breast! For people saying these bottles leak, I think they might not pulling the nipple through the ring far enough. I almost didn't after sanitizing the bottles.

Easy tearing though cleaning after one month

3 out of 5 stars

I am not sure how to avoid the tearing of the nipple hole. Three nipples total already got a crack when we only cleaned with our hands (pinkie finger). I kept thinking my baby doesn't want to drink only to find out the nipple was broken again. He was thirsty but got splattered with milk through the big opening. I am glad I noticed and had ordered spares. He finally drank after I switched the nipple to a new one! How can I avoid the tearing? I need to clean the inside of the tip since it gets oily!

Bad nipple shape

Bexs - 3 months ago

These nipples encouraged biting, not good for moms trying to breastfeed and bottle feed. The nipple should be longer to get deeper into the baby's mouth. Also frustrating that these nipples aren't interchangeable with the plastic Avent bottles.
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 3 months ago
Hi Bexs, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear about your experience with our Philips Avent Natural Response Baby Bottle. We want to assure you that our nipple is specifically designed to mimic the breast for seamless breast and bottle feeding transitions, reducing confusion for your baby. The unique design ensures milk is released only when your little one actively drinks, mirroring the natural breastfeeding process and minimizing spills. Regarding compatibility, both Natural and Natural Response bottles share the same screw ring, offering interchangeability between the two. Additionally, our products are compatible with Anti-colic bottles, screw rings, and nipples, providing flexibility in your feeding routine. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). You have to close the bottle JUST right for it to seal. Otherwise you will find yourself changing your baby out of a milk soaked onesie in the middle of the night. We’ve had to make a habit of testing the leakage before each feed. User error perhaps, but it happens enough to warrant this review.

My baby drinks very easily from these bottles. My only concern is that these bottles come with a size 3 nipple but I think the flow is just a little too fast so we switch back to size 2. This bottle pairs well with the Avent Air Free Vent.

We have tried five different bottles for our son and, for him, these are the best. We have also tried the following; Avent Anti Colic- Leaky. Baby still gassy. Dr Browns- A little leaky. Would lose milk around baby’s mouth. Too many parts. Comotomo- Easily tip over. Hard to read measurements. Take longer to heat. Mam- the worst. Leaky. Too many parts. Baby hated the nipple. So why are the Avent Natural the best for us? Baby like the wide shape better as its more like the breast. The shape is better than that of Comotomo because it doesnt smash his nose or get difficult to get out the last bit of milk. Easy to see measurements. Easy to clean with few parts. No leaking.

Was nervous our first time trying the bottle since she exclusively breastfed the first 2 month. We bought the sample packs from Babylist to see what she would like. These were the first ones we tried and she took to it perfectly without any issues! Never even bothered with the others. We do combo breastfeed/bottle and she has no issues transitioning back and forth. We have both the plastic and the glass ones. Personally I love the the glass ones more but the plastic are obviously lighter.

Excellent bottles and nipples. Bottles available in both glass and plastic. Nipples come in size 0 & 1 which is great for babies that need to be pace fed bc they take breast and bottle. These bottles and nipples lasted over a year. Never experienced bottle confusion nor bottle preference with these. My baby nurses like a champ even while take if these for daycare.

I think some people are confused about how to use these bottles. The nipple doesn’t release milk without sucking. If it’s too slow you have to upgrade the nipple for a faster flow. This is really for babies that feed at the breast. I used Dr browns but even the sz1 nipple was choking my baby. I wish I had found these bottles sooner. I also love that there aren’t so many parts to clean!
