Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 3 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/03

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Q: does this work with breast pumps

submitted by klm - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! No. To avoid milk leaking, we advise not to use glass bottles with Philips Avent Breast Pumps.

submitted byPhilips - 2 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: These bottles do fit my spectra pump flange, yes! I like pumping into them to avoid collecting milk in glass. However, the fit between the plastic flange and glass bottle isn’t perfectly snug, so you have to watch to be sure it doesn’t come unscrewed.

Q: since they are glass bottles do they break easy my son sometimes drops his bottles is the glass gonna break if he drops it on the floor?

submitted by Toni - 2 years ago
  • A: Hello! The glass bottle should only be handled by adults. Even though the glass is strong, it could still break because of the natural behavior of glass material.

So glad to have a glass option since we try to avoid plastic. I was very surprised by the other reviews because we’ve never had a bottle leak, and have used these every day for many many months.

Good bottle but leaks

While the bottle is sturdy in design and easy to clean/throw into the dishwasher, it does have a tendency to leak especially if the bottle isn’t screwed on the right way. You’d have to tip the bottle over to check whether you sealed it properly and too many times I had milk leak all over my hand and baby. This is pretty disheartening as a mother who provides breast milk to her baby as it wastes milk.

After 2 days of using the avent glass baby bottles crackes started to appear. Such a waste of money. It did not fall and very careful cleaning bottles but still suddenly cracks started to appear in 4 bottles. I regret buying it.

These are good lead free bottles but my issue comes from them leaking a lot. The bottle must be screwed just right for them not to leak and there’s no real way to find out if it is ‘just right’ until it’s leaking all over your baby. The nipple is also super shallow? My baby gulps a lot of air because of it

My daughter definitely loves these bottles/nipples over other brands we have tried with her. Very easy to clean and easy to hold. Admittedly they are a little heavy for her to hold on her own but perfecty for the younger months when mom and dad have to hold the bottle for her. Paired these bottles with the rubber cover and the baby grips definitely make it more baby friendly.

The Plastic Fasteners

2 out of 5 stars
RB1414 - 2 months ago
originally posted on philips.com
The plastic fasteners, holding the nipple, do not lock in place after a couple washes. We use a baby brezza to clean and sanitize our bottles. We do not use the dishwasher or boiling water but Philips’ plastic fasteners are so cheap they must warp during the brezza wash. Even though there are some benefits to using these bottles, they become unusable once the fastener no longer works. Don’t waste your money. They don’t even offer replacement fasteners, have to buy all new sets. You just end up with a bunch of extra glass bottles and nipples. You must wash the fasteners each time because of bacteria babies carry. Philips will never be a good or great company, just average because they dabble in everything from toothbrushes to lights…

We love using glass bottles for health/safety reasons and Avent is one of the few that our little guy likes. Occasionally the nipples will collapse but it’s such an easy fix to clear the vent.

Personal Review

3 out of 5 stars
Not for me personally - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
I really wanted to love these bottles. I opened the box, excited and seen a light crack on one of them. They are quite heavy. I don’t have the time for it. They would be need covers as well. I haven’t even tried them and I decided to go ahead and return them. Don’t get me wrong they’re beautiful and I would love to use them but I don’t think they’re for me and my family. I will be purchasing the plastic ones instead.

I really liked that these bottles were glass, which is part of what drew me to them, HOWEVER, after 3 months of using these, I can confidently say that I would not recommend them to anyone. The lids do not always screw on tightly and even when you think it’s on securely, it’ll literally pop off in the middle of feeding, which spills breastmilk all over my baby. Some lids don’t even screw on. They just keep spinning and spinning and for as expensive as they are, I expected these bottles to work way better. Extremely disappointed, having spent $200+ on these, we’re now looking for different bottles.

Was excited for these bottles. I prefer glass because they don’t dye or produce excess waste. However one kept leaking, upon further inspection, the ridges where it should seal with the white screw top were not correct. Upon comparison to another correctly working one, this one wasn’t made properly. Highly disappointed for $10 a bottle. Now I’m at a loss if I should buy more to make up for it, or switch brands.

The lids leak constantly. I can’t tell you got often they’ve leaked on my baby and we’ve had to change her clothes. Not ideal ever, especially in the middle of the night. I like the natural response nipple but Avent really needs to improve their design to stop the lid from leaking. I noticed a lot of others have the same complaint.
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 5 months ago
Hello there, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle is leaking. We would like to inform you that incorrect assembly is the cause of leakage in 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is properly inserted through the screw ring and is securely tightened on the bottle without being overtightened. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close as they may slip. Therefore, it is best to dry the bottle before closing it. If these tips do not help or if you need further assistance, please reach out to us via social media. We are available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). If you do not use social media, you can also contact us through our contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

We have been using plastic Avent bottles but decided to switch to glass after the lawsuit came out. They constantly leak and dump the entire bottle of milk on the baby no matter what we do. It’s the worst. We have in 7 months of twins never had a plastic bottle leak but deal with 2-3 leaks a day with the glass. I’ve done soo much laundry. Save yourself and just get the plastic. Those are 5 stars
