Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 1 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

-We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Q: Are these glass bottles microwave safe, if we would like to warm the milk in the bottle directly?

submitted by DC - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello! The Philips Avent Glass Bottles are microwave safe. However, we do not recommend using a microwave to warm up baby's food or drinks. Microwaves might alter the quality of food/drinks and destroy some valuable nutrients. Microwaves do not heat evenly and they might leave "hot spots" which could scald your baby. When heating up your Philips Avent bottle in the microwave, please only place the container without screw ring, AirFree vent, nipple and cap. Always stir heated content to ensure even heat distribution and check the temperature before serving.

    Leak terribly

The lids leak constantly. I can’t tell you got often they’ve leaked on my baby and we’ve had to change her clothes. Not ideal ever, especially in the middle of the night. I like the natural response nipple but Avent really needs to improve their design to stop the lid from leaking. I noticed a lot of others have the same complaint.

Hello there, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle is leaking. We would like to inform you that incorrect assembly is the cause of leakage in 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is properly inserted through the screw ring and is securely tightened on the bottle without being overtightened. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close as they may slip. Therefore, it is best to dry the bottle before closing it. If these tips do not help or if you need further assistance, please reach out to us via social media. We are available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). They are great and thick and pretty well made. They can withstand being dropped from the couch but not the high chair…. As we sadly found out. But they are glass so it’s not like it’s indestructible!

Hi there, We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle leak. Leakage is caused by the wrong assembly in 50% of the cases. Make sure the nipple is pulled correctly through the screw ring and the screw ring is tightened sufficiently on the bottle without overtightening. Please refer to the following video on how to assemble the bottles correctly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOUkxMBytfU. I have 6 of these bottles. 2 of them are the old style nipples and the other 4 are the new. The 4 new nipples are impossible to get liquid out of and my baby takes forever… Please bring back the old nipples !!! I even upped the size and it has not helped…. Also the bottle leaks WAY to easy out of the white ring part of the lid and I have all the attachments on properly. I’m sick and tired of losing ounces of milk when I tip the bottle. I will not be purchasing these bottles anymore which is unfortunate because they used to be the best..

Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have with Philips Avent bottles. Regarding the issue with the nipples, we would like to indicate that both the previous and new Philips Avent Natural Nipples are designed to look and feel like a breast, but only the new Natural Response Nipples are also designed to work like one, releasing milk only when your baby actively drinks. Babies who are accustomed to bottles with faster milk flow may find it challenging to adjust to our natural response nipples, which are designed to replicate the experience of breastfeeding. These nipples require babies to exert some effort to extract the milk. However, we understand that every baby is different, and finding the right nipple can make a significant difference in their feeding experience. In regards to the problem of leakage, we want to reassure you that our bottles are equipped with anti-colic valves. These valves are intentionally designed to be slightly open in order to maintain their anti-colic function. Consequently, when the bottle is inverted with the lid closed, it is normal to observe a small amount of liquid, usually less than a teaspoon, dripping out within the initial 30 seconds. This occurrence indicates that the valve is working properly by preventing air from entering your baby's stomach. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact. These are by far the worst bottles we have ever used. The lids leak so much milk. We rely solely on donors milk and I’ve lost so much milk because of these bottles it breaks my heart. My son has been covered in more milk than what he consumes. Please save your money and liquid gold. It is not worth it. I am beyond mad.

Love the no drip design for nursing to sleep

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this from the Stellar Panel, and they are great bottles! I have always wanted to try glass bottles for my baby because I don't like using and heating plastic bottles even when they don't contain PCBs. I especially love the no-drip nipples because my baby needs milk to sleep, particularly at night. When the nipples don't drip, she will drink more easily and willingly from the bottle as it simulates breastfeeding the most. The milk completely does not drip out even 1 drop when held upside down. It only starts letting out milk when baby suckles!

    Beautiful bottles and soft nipples

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this product from the Stellar Product Testing panel. First of all, the bottles are very beautiful, slender or tapered in the middle for an ergonomic design. Also my baby (12 month) was able to grasp it on her own and carry it. I typically use plastic bottles and was concerned about it being glass but she has dropped it a few times without any issues of breaking. I had to get the faster flow nipples for my baby and she was satisfied with them. She drank with ease. I like how the no drip tip really works!! My daughter rarely experiences gas or colic, so I can't comment whether this nipple system works for younger babies with this concern. All the components of the bottle and nipple were easy to remove and reassemble. Relatively easy cleaning except if you leave milk inside for long, it's harder to scrub the grooves within the nipple (petal designs). I would recommend to others to try and even consider gifting this system to my friend who is expecting.

We’ve been trying to eliminate plastic drinkware and this has been a great alternative to plastic baby bottles. my baby takes the bottle well. The only adjustment we have had to get used to is the added weight but it’s a trade off we will gladly make for a healthier alternative to plastic! Thank you Stellar Panel for sending me this product to test.

Finally a sturdy glass baby bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having been on the hunt for a good, sturdy, ergonomic baby bottle, I have finally found success with the Philips AVENT Glass Natural Baby Bottle, with Natural Response Nipple! As you can see in the attached picture my daughter can very easily hold the bottle with one hand, and be in control. Previous glass bottles that we had tried were either way to heavy for her to hold up, or too fragile that I wouldn't let her hold it herself in fear of it dropping and smashing into pieces. We did drop test this bottle from the height of the couch in the picture, and while my daughter was standing, and at both times the bottle didn't even show signs of weakness! The fact that the Natural Response Nipple is wider than the standard Philips AVENT Natural nipples, it truly allows for my daughter to pace herself comfortably. The wideness of the nipple also makes cleaning and rinsing easier, as I know I am getting all areas of the nipple and residue. The vent in the Natural Response Nipple really does work, you can hear it releasing the air as she is sucking and pausing to swallow. She no longer gets frustrated with the nipple, because it has sucked down into the bottle! Thankfully! I am so grateful for having received the Philips AVENT Glass Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple, as a member of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, as it has allowed my daughter to be confident and comfortable feeding herself from her bottle. It also has allowed this Momma a sigh of relief as I don't need to monitor bottle time, in fear of the bottle breaking. I will be recommending this bottle to everyone that asks what my favourite bottle, due to the easy of cleaning, sturdiness and ergonomic shape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bottle was very easy for my baby to hold, the extra height made simple for him to grip. Previously I had smaller bottles but really like the size of the 8 oz bottle. Recently my baby was sick and we filled one of the bottles with milk and one with water, the no-drip nipple made it very mess free for him to grab for whenever he needed a drink. This bottle and nipple design made it very easy for him to drink his water rather than using cup like he normally does. The bottle and nipples come apart very easily for cleaning. I love that it’s glass, we have dropped it a few times and it has never broken or chipped, very good quality. I received this bottle set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a set of Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle With Natural Response Nipple from Stellar Product Testing Panel and my baby loves it. My baby is 17 months old and still breastfeeding and using bottles when I'm at work. My problem with other nipples is that they leak and drip when my baby plays while feeding and I end up wiping everywhere, but the natural response nipple solved that problem, no drip anymore. Since the nipple design mimics the breast my baby can breathe and he's very comfortable using it. I was thinking since it was glass it will be heavy but it's light and my baby can hold it without problem. I love that it is so easy to clean and it fits perfectly in my diaper bag.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle through the Stellar Product Testing Panel to test. Really good quality bottle - glass is thick, wide bottle to accommodate wider nipple to mimic breast, bottle is easy to hold (dips in the middle), bottle, ring, and nipple were easy to assemble and clean...unfortunately baby refused them as it was different from what she was used to, so can’t comment if it is easy to drink from or whether it leaks, so giving fewer stars as a result.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 month old breastfed baby took to this bottle right away. The wide base made it easy for baby to transition from breast to bottle, even in the same feeding session. The Natural Response nipple helped to regulate the flow of milk, and kept the feed mess-free - especially important since teething pain is causing baby to unlatch numerous times while eating! While the glass bottles looked and felt classy, the heavier weight (compared to plastic) made the bottles difficult for baby to hold herself. This was my first time using glass bottles and while I would definitely recommend the Natural Response nipples, I’ll stick with plastic bottles. I couldn’t give this product 5 stars because of my preference for plastic bottles, but I LOVED the responsive nipples and wish I would have had them 2 years ago with my first baby! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle set, and introducing me to the innovative design.

Perfect size and ergonomics just a little weighty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full disclosure, I received these bottles as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My 7 month old son is mostly breastfed, however, when mum needs a well deserved break he will take a bottle. He generally drinks anywhere from 5 to 7 oz of milk in one sitting. The Phillips Avent 4 oz bottles we currently use force me to either slightly overfill or do his feed in two sessions with a short break while I refill his bottle. And yes, you guessed it, he does not enjoy that. The switch to a 8oz bottle was a great transition as he can now enjoy the full “serving” in one sitting. The shape of the bottle helped him handle it and hold it himself as the center of the bottle tapers in for a natural hold. The nipples that came with the bottle were ‘size 3’ and it seemed that my son, who had previously used ‘size 4’ before, did not notice the difference. The weight of the bottle made me a little bit nervous as my son does not yet have full control of his motor skills. I definitely caught myself hovering my hands around the bottle, ready to catch it, as he was drinking. My son has used the Philips Natural Response nipples before and took to this nipple without issue. He quite happily sucks back milk and finished his 6 oz with little to no breaks. When my wife breastfeeds him he will often pull off and take breaks which did not seem to be the case with this nipple. In the hospital I learned that if my son does not form a good seal with his lips that I can just turn the bottle slightly back and forth and it naturally sets his lips on the nipple completely. Usually this leaves a bit of a gap because of where the nipple fits into the plastic screw-on lid. The size/width of the nipple ensured a proper seal and did not cause my son to have to re-latch as he usually does. It’s only been a few days but overall, I appreciate the size and ergonomics of this bottle. I don’t know if I would necessarily pack this in our diaper bag due to its weight and fear of it falling and hurting my son in some way (probably not an issue but my anxiety can get the best of me sometimes!) However, this bottle will stay home and will be the main bottle I’ll use for the daytime feeds.

    First time trying glass bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this bottle set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have an older baby who is fussy with bottles and is mostly breastfed. I was worried a glass bottle would be heavy, I thought the design of this bottle worked well for my baby as it was not heavy. My baby took to this bottle and the wide shaped nipple fortunately. The nipple has a natural appearance and well made. While observing my baby breathing I was happy to see he was able to pause comfortably and swallow while drinking. My baby did not have any gas issues after using this bottle and nipple. I had no problems with cleaning the bottle and nipple as it was easy and quick. The no drip nipple is good to not let any milk go to waste but the only downside was I always check the temperature of the milk by putting some on the back of my hand and because it doesn’t drip out at all unless baby sucks, it was near impossible to get the milk out. I squeezed with my finger on the tip to get a little out, but obviously I felt it was not sanitary to do that. So instead, I am just using a straw to get some out to test on my hand before closing the bottle with the nipple. I think it’s worth that extra step to use this bottle and nipple, especially because assembling the bottle is super easy and fast. Overall, great glass bottle and nipple.

Easy transition between breast and bottle nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try the natural response bottle nipples that I received from Stellar Product Testing Panel as my toddler has been drinking her milk from a bottle since she was 10 months old. First, I love that it's a glass bottle and not plastic, which puts my mind at ease. Second, the natural response bottle made the transition from breast to bottle nipple a lot easier. My little one took the bottle with ease as the bottle nipple is quite similar to the shape of the breast nipple. There is also a natural pause between each sip so she was not swallowing air and having any gas issues, which is the main issue with some other bottles. I also have never experienced any problems with the bottle leaking. I also have a newborn that is exclusively breastfed for now and will be using the same Avent bottle and nipples once baby is able to drink milk.
