A: Mine does the same. I was excited to get the tree and it was an excellent deal, however, one branch was completely out, the random changing of light pattern as others explained, and there’s one section that flickers as if it has a short. I have the tree boxed up and read for return.

A: Mine has been doing the same thing. I’ve reached out to customer service and they recommended these two steps:
1. Remove the batteries from your remote so it is not potentially sending any signals to your tree.
2. Unplug the tree for 2 minutes, plug it back in, then try using the foot pedal to cycle to a mode other than light show, as described above.
I have tried both these options and neither worked. I’m also beginning to think this is a manufacturing issue. It’s becoming quite frustrating!

A: I finally got ahold of customer service about this issue… I was told to unplug it and plug it back in. That clearly didn’t work… The I was told to make sure I was hitting the correct button and directed how to do so. So obviously, I returned the tree because it’s electrically messed up. Which, was a process in itself because you can’t return it to the store and have to bring it to a UPS/Fedex.

A: Update: I received the new remote and control box over the weekend, but it did not fix the issue. I just received a call from Philips customer service, and now they have figured out the root cause of the issue (external interference). Basically, the spurious emissions is interfering with the receiver in the foot pedal. They will have a permanent solution (new control box + new remote) available in early spring, but in the meantime they are offering to send a modified control box w/o remote, which requires using the foot pedal exclusively, plus you will lose the dimming capability. I personally would prefer keeping the dimming capability for this season, so I passed on the new control box and in the meantime I plan to shield (wrap) my foot pedal with aluminum foil with hopes of eliminating the interference.

A: Mine is doing the same thing. It will be white twinkling for an hour or more and suddenly it flashes and switches to multicolored. It’s so frustrating. I’ve tried unplugging and removing the remote batteries but it doesn’t fix it. I will be calling customer service as well.

A: I just got mine 2 days ago and that's the only issue but it's a HUGE issue! Won't hold one setting for more than minutes! It turns off & on on its own, changes settings constantly!! So irritating

A: I see the answer from the brand and it’s not a setting. The trees are changing light settings after a while completely on their own and won’t stay put in the selected setting. This is happening to a lot of people and is not user error. It’s a manufacturing/design issue.

A: I had mine on a tree rotating base, turned that off, no more electrical noise, it stopped changing to light show on me, I think the controlbox is screwing up in the presence of electrical noise, either directly or through proximity.

A: I tried a 26 inch tree collar and also tried a 27 inch, doesn’t work. I ordered a 28 inch and it should be delivered tomorrow but I am sure it will work so much better. Also, the height of 10 inch is also a bit short. Might want to get one that is a bit taller if you want to hide the legs.

A: Try removing the eyebolts from the Tree Stand (D), then make sure the pole of the Tree Bottom (C) reaches the bottom of the inside of the stand. Once you ensure the pole is sitting all the way down inside of (D), then you can add the eyebolts. The eyebolts should be twisted until they touch the tree trunk, and all 3 should be twisted to an even length in order for the tree to be straight. A: I am having this same problem. The twinkle function does not work at all. All the other settings are backwards. So frustrating. I have a case number for this, but no solution yet.

A: Here is the problem with switching…the connector only connects one way completely because one side is flat and the other is circular. You can switch it out, but it is not a tight connection. So the wiring is backwards, not the connector.

A. The connector between the control box and the tree is connected backwards
B. Unscrew connector between the control box and the tree, turn connector 180 degrees and reinsert.
C. Try the functions again.

A: It only twinkle on warm white light setting and not all of the lights twinkle. some are steady lights and some twinkle. I compare them to seeing fire flies / lightning bugs. It's very pretty!

So disappointing! As I was setting up the tree and fluffing branches, it shocked me when I brushed my arm across it. This caused the middle section of lights to go super dim. I thought it was just a weird static electricity coincidence, but after reading other reviews, it seems I’m not the only buyer that has been electrocuted by the tree. This tree needs to be recalled! It also makes quite a loud and concerning buzzing noise at the plug. I will be returning, and I would encourage others to consider returning while they are still in their return window.

The tree was great for 3 weeks, then something went wrong with the lights. As pictured, the bottom section of the tree is a lot brighter than the top section. I tried unplugging and plugging, but nothing helped. It's quite the price tag for something that doesn't even work an entire season. Very disappointed.

We are sorry you experienced that issue. We are happy to help! Usually the dimming means that the pole connection between your tree sections is not making full contact. It may just be Section B and Section C that need to be readjusted, but lift each section and drop it firmly into the next tree section's pole. It’s 2:30 am and the tree just turned on by itself and woke me up. This is second time it’s done this so I have to unplug it. It also changes settings on its own and a section of lights went out within 3 days of having tree.

Other remote control frequencies interfere with the tree. The tree will turn on and off randomly. It will change modes without notice. Very disappointing.

Like many others I was so excited for this tree. I was great for about 3 weeks then a section got a short near the top. It was not that noticeable so I let it go. Then tonight, Christmas Eve an entire middle row got a short. To say this ruined my Christmas Eve is a vast understatement. I cannot wait to return this and am devastated. DO NOT BUY

Excellent tree. Paid $175 when it was half off. A little sparse in some areas. I never had issues with the lights changing colors. Play with the remote for a little and it stays on the setting you want. Even better is that this tree has 3 years of warranty.

Very disappointed in this tree. 2 weeks ago I was shocked while adjusting a branch the lights dimmed out I immediately unplugged it waited to see if anything happened & eventually plugged it back in I thought maybe it had just been static. December 13 it shocked me again after rearranging a branch in the same area the lights dimmed in 2 sections after replugging the lights went back to normal. I left the tree off until the next day 12/14 while trying to figure out the issue it shocked my husband. I called customer service to report the issue & get a replacement on 12/15 tree out of stock. 12/16 tree in stock placed order received yesterday 12/19. Spent all evening 12/20 setting up tree to have the same problem. Extremely frustrating & scary. I don’t feel safe having this tree in my home. Will be returning. 2nd tree was also extremely unstable wobbly & the branches were hard to fluff & flimsy.

This tree is the BEST. It was so easy to setup (literally took 10 min) and the lights are so pretty. I love how I can change them from warm light to bright color lights depending on my mood :) The branches are realistic and the size is perfect!

We bought this tree because of it's many light options, remote and timer. It worked great for about 2 weeks and now it has a mind of its own- it turns off and on at random times, cycles through all light cycles, gets stuck on one setting (that we didn't choose), etc. Just about everything that can go wrong with this tree has. I will be contacting Philips for a refund or a replacement.

The tree is beautiful! It was super easy to put together and only took about an hour to fluff. What I didn’t notice on any pictures in other reviews is that the branches are regular fake tree branches except the tips of each branch are a rubbery texture. They don’t fluff at all which is whatever but the other part of the tree is harder to fluff solely because the lights are on the branches too tight. Also only the front half of the branches are lit, so there are dark spots in the tree. Decorating it with ornaments helped some but I can personally still see some of the dark holes. You also can’t clip a star to the top, so our tree is starless this year.

I loved the twinkle. This is my dream tree! Bought it when it was on sale for $175! I had it for exactly 29 days and then the whole bottom set of lights went out completely. The middle section would sometimes slightly dim, but I overlooked it because I truly loved the tree. I was so bummed that it went out 12 days before Christmas!

This may be an issue where the center pole is not making full contact to the next section. Firmly drop Section B into Section C. Electrical hazard. Lights on the top half of the tree, dimmed and flickered after only being up for two weeks later that night my son was shocked by the tree and the lights flickered. I contacted target to return it or to get a replacement and they only offered me $10 off a new tree even though I bought this one for 50% off. I was hoping a replacement would be price matched. Loved it before it was a hazard
