Q: How does the taste compare to fairlife protein shake?

A: I think it taste better. Fairlife 30g has a weird after taste that this one doesn't have. I've had both the chocolate and the vanilla. I prefer the chocolate.

Texture: Fairlife is thicker. Ours is silky and drinkable, like real milk—no chalky feel. Aftertaste: Many notice less of that “protein shake” aftertaste with Pioneer Pastures (we use single-source A2 dairy protein, no protein powders or artificial sweeteners). Tip: enjoy it ice-cold and give it a good shake—most people say that’s when the “tastes like real milk” moment really hits.

Yikes, this stuff is really gross. Not sure how people are liking this. I appreciate the low sugar, low carbs, and high protein, but it doesn’t taste good. Has a weird after taste too.

I’m actually pretty disappointed because it seems like it has better and less ingredients than its competitors but the taste was lacking. It didn’t taste like a milkshake or even a thick chocolate milk. It tasted like watering chocolate flavoring and the flavor wasn’t strong at all. They also use Monk Fruit as sweetner but its so nasty to me; it always leaves an unpleasant lingering after taste. I wanted to like it but i just didnt. If they used a different sweetener and made it with a real heaping of choco, maybe it would be better

Smelled good at first and looked good untill we noticed the "lactose free." Went to the bus stop cracked open a bottle and when I say its thick that milk isn't even milk its just as thick as ice cream. Not only that but the aftertaste is so bad and bitter. Literally 2 minutes after buying the drink had to leave it at the bus stop because I couldn't have anymore. Sure it has a lot of protein but the taste is just not it.

These shakes are delicious and meet all my nutritional requirements. High protein, low sugar, A2 protein, and no seed oils. Another reviewer mentioned a “slimy texture”. I wouldn’t call it that. You do have to shake them really well and sometimes they are thicker at the end but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Love them!

I have a very sensistive stomach when it comes to dairy (specifically milk and ice cream). Lactose free helps but isn't enough and A2 helps but isn't enough. I know in other places in the world they have Lactose Free A2 and I've really had a hard time finding it. Well thank you, Pioneer and Target! I ordered all of the milks (whole, 2%, and chocolate) and some of the protein shakes. Wow. The taste is amazing. REAL MILK! So far (only about 15-mins) no stomach upset, but time will tell. I'm hoping this works out because I love milk and to finally have Lactose Free A2 is a Godsend!

I really enjoy this protein shake. It tastes good and it is gentler on my stomach than Fairlife. I normally have to get vegan protein shakes due to my dairy sensitivity but I do great with this one.

These taste good, decent ingredients, and have a high protein count. But one big issue is that they have a slimy consistency in the texture. So much to the point that I put some in a bowl to investigate it. I’m sure it’s the gum acacia or the gellan gum creating this problem. It needs to be blended way better.

I drink a protein shake everyday and have been on the hunt for the healthiest options that still taste good. These are by far the best shakes I've ever tried and I love that they have no artificial sweeteners or seed oils while still packing 30g of protein.

I tried this stuff because I couldn't find the Fairlife brand available, and won't be trying it again. It has a bitter/medicine taste. My son hated it, he'd give it 0/5 but I'm giving it 2 stars because at least it has protein for minimal calories. Also it's super expensive!
