The new emery is more like a buffer and has no grit. Complete waste of money considering the emery is what I purchased for. The tool itself feels cheaply made compared to the original too.

Decent for natural nails!
This is a great "baby's first nail grinder" system. It runs on batteries, so it is never going to be as powerful as something that plugs in. With that said I would recommend this to newbies who are nervous about sanding/buffing their nails too much. It does an adequate job shaping the natural nail and I think is best for those who are not using acrylics or other materials. It worked nicely to buff my nail surfaces and clean up around my cuticles. If you are looking for something heavy duty, keep looking. If you keep your nails natural and want a simple tool to help keep your nails buffed and shaped this is a great option.
