Olive & June Nail Gel Starter Kit

l went to school for nails,the base coat doesn't get dry ,the top coat gets dry and peels off on its .its not been half a day my gel is peeling off my top coat is nowhereto be found😢,l cant ,can l get my money back,l was drying each layer 3 times as in 2 minutes times 6 for but ehh 😭😭😭😭😭

This beginners is great. It might take you a couple tries to become a master but it’s definitely worth the effort. Now I just need more gel polishes :)

So, I was looking for something in place of having to spend $50 plus for nails every other week. Once you get used to this system, you will be happy with your nails. It is a learning curve, so don’t give up!

I had high hopes for this gel set. I followed the included instructions and even after several attempts, my polish never fully dried. As soon as I applied the top base coat and put my hand under the included light, my nail beds started burning like fire. Returning it asap!

I took a shot even after seeing reviews stating their nails were sticky. I’m new to doing my own nails, but I did some research. The base coat and your two following color coats are supposed to remain tacky (to an extent) so they adhere to each other. The top coat is what is supposed to be hard. Also, be sure you’re doing thin layers. Be sure you’re buying their gel nail polish… it has to say gel! Worked in a snap for me! I will be purchasing more colors. Very satisfied, especially for the price!

My gels keep peeling off after one day. I’ve tried twice now and have put my nails under the lamp extra times both tries and they still come off next day. Love the idea of gels at home and love the olive and June colors! What am I doing wrong?

This kit is awesome. Nail polish usually comes off in a day on me. Usually I ruin my manicure immediately because I don’t have the time to let it dry completely where it doesn’t smudge. This changes everything! Some reviewers said it never set and it is true that after you “cure” the base coat and color coat it’s still tacky and smudgy, but once the top coat goes on, the one minute makes it all set so that it sets hard as a rock and won’t smudge, imprint, chip etc. I could go pick up my toddler, change a diaper, do dishes immediately after that light goes off without worrying at all. Also, if you do smudge the color coat, which I did once, you can file out the smudges (and it will look matte and not shiny), you brush off all the dust and then apply the top coat straight on there and cure and it looks like it never happened. Be careful to not accidentally grab the peel off base coat instead of the normal base coat if you don’t want it to peel. And if you use the peel off, make sure to leave a nice edge for the real base coat to stick to so it won’t come off right away. Another thing I like about the gel nails over regular polish is that I have all the time in the world to work slow painting without having it clump up because it starts drying too quick. Then also it’s thick so all the little streaks kind of settle out on their own without having to keep messing with it. As in, if there’s a tiny dot at the edge I missed between strokes, I can just dot a bit on that spot and it will just melt into the rest of it without having to rebrush all the way from the base again. One thing I learned is that I need to wipe off a majority of the polish off the brush before painting otherwise way too much gloops on and “floods” the nail bed such that it sits in the crevice between nail and skin and is super annoying to try to clean up before curing. Especially base and top coat, you only need the thinnest layer to make a pretty coat (because again it all just melts together!). Also if you’re worried about removal, go to Amazon and look for gel polish removers. I got one from the “Gellen” brand and it works pretty well. You first want to file off as much as possible without getting to your real nail and it works the best that way. It’s pretty cool. No waiting for 20 min with your fingers in acetone. Hope this helps someone out there.

I routinely get compliments on my nails when I have an O&J gel mani on and it never gets old telling folks I did it myself. I thought the learning curve would be severe but first time at bat I was thrilled with my results.

Purchased this for my teenage daughters, yet I’m the one using it! It’s great having this since I never treat myself to the nail salon!

I had to donate because I wasn’t getting the correct result. I was doing something wrong so I’m donating it the next sale. We have it here at our facility. Hopefully someone else can use it but I know I would’ve loved it. I am using some of the other nail polishes without the LED screen that dry on their own

I love this for a diy gel mani. It has never lasted the “up to 21 days” that’s promoted, not even close, more like 7-10 days for me. But hey, that’s better than normal polish, which usually chips within a day or two for me. I followed the instructions, prep, and steps perfectly but I never expect it to last more than a week. It’s very simple and affordable, so I’m ok with it. Bought this brand specifically for the ingredients and testing. Would like to see more color options in store.

I am a pro at Olive and June manis with normal polish, but I am new to the gel system. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The clean up brush is VERY important - if polish cures to the cuticle, the whole gel will lift up after a few days. I love the peel off base coat for ease of removal, but I want to get better at using it. My two gel manicures so far with the peel off base coat only lasted 3-4 days before catching on things and starting to rip.

I had such high hopes for this product, but the first nail peeled off in about 8 hours. The rest were off within 24. The only bright side is that each piece of polish came off so easily it didn’t damage my nails, but it was a total waste of money. I’ll stick to regular polish.
