Disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately the nail polish left my nail beds orange. I tried on 2 different occasions just to make sure and my nails suffered. It does peel off easily. However, applying nail polish is a bit difficult because the polish seem to adhere to this base coat.

Peeled off within 24 hours
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try my first gel manicure with Olive and June and am so disappointed by the peel off gel base coat. The first time I tried, I figured it was user error and retried with a much, much thinner coat of the base, polish, and top coat. However, the polish still peeled off within 24 hours of wear. I love the color I purchased and have loved non-gel products from Olive and June so this was a bummer.

Short time-worth it
First time gel user. I love this peel off base coat. very easy to use. It took a few times for me to get the right amount to use. I don't mind the shorter wear time. For me, it beats the time it would take to normally remove gel. And my nails are not damaged.

This is a great option if you want the look of gel without committing to a long wear time. It creates a base layer that lets you peel off your manicure later without acetone. Peels too quickly
My regular gel routine was destroying my nails so I decided to try this hoping it would help. Followed the instructions on the website and 5 nails came off within 2 hours. I love the idea of it, just wish it lasted longer.

Helps mani peel right off (way too quickly…)
I liked that I could easily peel off the gel polish, but it made it peel off a little too easily and way too quickly. The first two times I used the gel system I used the peel off base coat and my mani was peeling off within a few hours, both times. Follow instructions to a T and waited for it to fully dry before applying anything else. I finally re did them yesterday without the peel off coat and my mani looks great. I wish this would work better and help my mani last longer than a few hours because I would totally use it every time!

Love the product, but maybe it's almost "too good" of a peel off that I feel like sometimes certain nails are coming off faster with the use of this underneath the base coat.

I totally understand your frustration. When using the Peel Off Base Coat, you only want to apply a thin coat on bare nails leaving a small border around the edge of the nail (including the tip!). Let dry for about 1-2 minutes, then proceed with Gel Base Coat and cure. Not sure what i expected but this wasn't it.
Honestly, I’m not sure what I expected based on the name. If I get one day of wear out of this, I am lucky. When I think of gel polish, I think of something that’s going to last a week. I think my thoughts on this was that when it came time to take it off it was something that peeled off easily. However, I guess for that technology it means that it will peel off easily at any point. If there’s any part of the polish lifting or loose or gets caught on anything, it will immediately peel off. I’ve had to touch my nails up daily repainting several a day. While I’m trying to give my nails rest from acrylics it is keeping them looking nice, but it is a daily routine. I don’t find it to be damaging to the base of my nail so that’s a bonus. If you are using this for long-term aware, stay clear. If you need your nails to look nice for a day with no mess, it’s worth it.

Definitely Peels Off - Within a Day!
I loved the idea of a damage free removal of gel polish but this is a waste of time and money. It peels off within a day of application! Doesn't leave any damage, but I ended up having to redo my entire gel manicure the next day with the normal gel base. Don't waste your time or money on this. If you're hoping for long-lasting gel, just do their normal system and accept that there might be minimal damage to your nails. Their long lasting polish lasts longer than using this base coat.

We're so sorry to hear you're not having the best gel experience. Let's fix that! Typically, this is due to poor prep - Make sure to clean your nail plate thoroughly with acetone before application and lightly buffing to create a rough surface for the polish to stick to. If you're using the Peel-Off Base Coat, we always recommend applying the Peel Off Base coat on the center of your nails only leaving a free border around the edges and the tips of your nails to serve as allowance for the Gel Base Coat to adhere to your nails. If you paint all the way to the tips, it can cause your mani to lift. You want to have a nice border all around the perimeter of your peel off base coat. Peeling can also be caused by your coats being too thick, you'll want to make sure to wipe off most of the product off the brush to ensure thin enough coats. Not worth it
I've done every trouble shooting technique to make my nails last with this base coat. Bubbles form underneath in a day, then they lift in the next day or 2. I lost a whole nail and didn't even know it. Did it go in my salad? Who knows. I would never buy this again, wish I would have just gotten the regular base coat, because they look so good when they are just done, but do not hold up.

Manicure peeled off in an hour
Got the gel system and followed the instructions using the Peel Off Base Coat. My manicure peeled off after an hour. I re-did it thinking I did something wrong, nope, peeled off again. I really want this to work as I generally love Olive and June products. What is going on here?
