A: Hi - we suppose you could drop in a battery powered light, but the fixture is not designed for that. It's meant to be a wired light operated by a wall switch. Thank you for the question.

I ordered four of these sconces . The brushed gold finish is very nice, it provides nice light too. I had hoped to turn them upside down, with the bars at the bottom, but they didn't look as good. They do look a bit industrial in my bathroom.
