Q: I understand the dimmer switch is on the wall plate, but would I be able to turn the lamp on/off from under the shade? (Our headboard situation would make reaching back to the wall plate difficult.)

A: Hi - the dimmer switch is also the on-off switch. It's pretty accessible and not too difficult to get at, and the swing arm is a very handsome design. Hope that helps, thank you for the question.

I placed two of these at each end of a wrap around couch - they look very nice and I like the solid feel of them. One did have a faulty switch and customer support was friendly and easy to work with and got the lamp replaced right away.
