Luteinizing Hormone is one of the hormones produced by the pituitary gland. It is secreted at very low levels throughout your menstrual cycle. Once a developing egg follicle reaches a certain size, LH secretion surges to high levels. This hormone surge is what triggers ovulation about 24 to 48 hours later. Your LH surge is important because it initiates the beginning of ovulation.
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary. It signals the beginning of your fertile period. A positive result indicates the presence of a high amount of LH or LH surge. The amount of LH in your body will begin to decrease after ovulation, so you’ll only get a positive result during that crucial fertile period. Once the egg is released, it is only viable for about 24 hours. After that your fertile window is over. This makes it very important to be able to identify this best time to conceive.
Ovulation may be irregular because of conditions, emotions and other factors in your life. You can’t presume that ovulation always occurs at the same time after menstruation. Therefore, you should test again in each menstrual cycle.

Q: How long do you recommend letting the urine sample sit out to cool down enough to take the test? The instructions inside of the packet state that the urine must be at “room temperature” or 59°-86°, but fresh urine exits the body closer to 100°.

A: If fresh urine is around body temperature (close to 100°F), allow it to stabilize in a room-temperature environment for a few minutes to prevent potential thermal variations from influencing the chemical reactions of the test. However, it should not need to cool excessively; a brief waiting period is generally sufficient.

Just came to say I should have purchased this pack over clear blue, because clear blue wants me to hold my bladder for at least 4 hours before I test. Pregmate says and sample is fine, just try to reduce liquid intake 2 hours before test.

Super easy to use! I’ve been using the strips along with the Pregmate app which has helped read the results. Have been using for 2 cycles and have had no issues detecting surge and ovulation. This time around, I was able to read a positive test before scanning with the app. I have PCOS and am TTC. My cycles have been all over the place but these strips have helped in getting a feel for when ovulation is occurring and when my menstrual phase is approaching! I really like these strips and will continue using. Easy to use and affordable!
