Prequel Facial Gleanser Cleanser - 13.5 fl oz

The product is a great value but it does not seem to remove makeup very well. I always double cleanse but would need to triple or quadruple with this product. I thought it would be a good dupe for the Kiehls cleanser or work as well as Tula... but I will be switching back to those. Save your money.

Please, please, please don’t ever change this formula! I’m 47 and been searching for a cleanser that doesn’t make my skin feel dry, stripped, break out or just simply not clean. This has been the best cleansing formula I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried A LOT of cleansers over the years. It’s truly the first cleanser I’ve tried that really does what it claims. So very happy with this formula and will be so disappointed if it ever changes. I’ll definitely keep buying.

I purchased this cleanser because I have clinically diagnosed eczema, dry-to-very dry, skin. My skin is quite sensitive as well, overall and I was drawn to the fact that it was dermatologist developed. Even though I have dry skin, I can’t regularly use creamy or milky based cleansers bd side they often end up breaking me and not leaving my skin feeling deeply cleansed either. So, I have found that my skin pairs best with a gel based facial cleanser that comes with a creamy type of lather, versus a super sudsy one instead. The shipping was rather quick, which was a plus. I will say that this cleanser did not irritate my eyes. However, I found this cleanser to be way more on the drying side, than I honestly ever expected. Yes, it has a huge amount of glycerin in it, but there are a number of ingredients in it that aren’t in the “moisturizing category” at all ingredients wise. They are instead drying to the skin instead.,Yes, it does take longer to 100% wash off this facial cleanser than a lot of other cleansers on the market that I have tried. Best believe I have tried a ton. It also leaves my face feeling a bit itchy with a bit of a tingling sensation afterwards, which equates to a level of irritation. Using it 2x a day, everyday would 100% be too much for my skin to take with this cleanser, as well as my sinuses. It doesn’t have a very noticeable smell to the product when you pump it out and put it onto your face, per max 2x a day, However, with repeated use, I started getting these sneezing episodes that would randomly come and go, started dealing with a itchy throat, that began to develop into a full blown sore throat, began to develop a cough that I had to resort to taking prescription cough medicine to help control. I also started to notice my body feeling warm after washing the cleanser off, to the point, it began to equate to me feeling feverish. I actually bought 2 full sized bottles of this stuff to start off with. And, unfortunately within a short period of time, it started to affect my actual health, unfortunately in more ways than one. I had to stop usage of this cleanser after a very short period of time. This product was starting to compromise my skin barrier’s health more and more, but also my inner health as well. I am now in “Recovery Mode”. Continuing to use prescription medication n hand to help with me getting all the way back on track. I had to switch to using another cleanser, that is totally non-sensitizing to my eczema prone skin, and that is compatible with my overall internal health as well. What I went through using this product, I totally wish that no one ever does too. Even though I did perform a patch test, it still didn’t allow me to know that things would end up going as south as it did with this cleanser overall. So, please understand that even patch tests aren’t always 100% accurate all the time, nonetheless.

I’m a few weeks into using this cleanser and I Love it. Cleans so well; even my mascara and sunscreen while leaving my skin soft and not stripped.

Love the product, hate the packaging. I’ve had two now that accidentally slip off the low ledge of my shower and the top breaks off. Just so cheap!

This is the best cleanser I have used in a long time! It doesn't irritate my sensitive rosacea prone skin, and it actually makes my skin feel clean. I have tried at least 7 different face cleansers in the past 8 months, and none of them compare. Most of the cleansers irritated my skin withing a few days, others felt like they weren't cleansing my skin at all and eventually led to irritation. Trying new skin care products has been terrifying, since the reactions my skin can have can be pretty severe. Some of the reactions range from light irritation, like small bumps or pustules and itching of the skin, to an extreme reaction, including a face full of bumps or pustules, skin peeling, and burining of the skin when in contact with any heat or moisture. I found this face cleanser by Prequel on the National Rosacea Society website and decided to give it a try since it shouldn't have any ingredients currently known to irritate rosacea, and I absolutely love it. I will be sticking with this brand from now on, and I hope they continue to grow.

I was a long time Cetaphil or Cerave cleanser girly, but realized that they were actually drying me out. I started using this and immediately started breaking out but I’m prone to that when switching products so I kept using it. After a couple weeks of hormonal acne flare ups and purging, my skin was back on track and doing better than before. I originally purchased my bottle in January ‘25, and JUST finished it July ‘25. I wash my face pretty religiously twice a day, so the cost effectiveness alone is reason enough for me to buy this again. My skin now is doing better than it ever has and the only consistent change I’ve made is this cleanser. Only thing I would change is the smell! It’s not scented so it just smells like…chemicals? I don’t like fragranced products usually but I think this could use one lol

I had a bad reaction to this product and it seems SO gentle and non irritating at first glance. It gave me terrible eczema flares on my chest and I couldn’t figure out what it was for the longest time because this face wash seems to be tolerated so well by many. It finally clicked to me after I got out of the shower and realized my face was BRIGHT red, tight, and irritated after double cleansing my makeup off. I really wish I could tolerate it because it made my skin feel so clean, but apparently the high glycerin is irritating for some highly sensitive peeps. Just be careful!!

I love this product, bought for sensitive skin care for my body initially to use in the shower, and then I got another for my face as a replacement when I ran out of my LRP lotion cleanser. I have been using LRP for years, so this says a lot. It has a natural very mild flowery scent just from the ingredients, it cleans without stripping, and it removes make up and sunscreen easily. Also, you get a LOT for the price compared to other similar products.

Perfect for sensitive, acne prone skin.

I have eczema, prone skin and this is the best product I’ve ever used. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized and soft. No tightness that some cleansers leave behind. The texture is different from any other cleaner I’ve used before, but I’ve come to like it. I highly recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin that is looking for a cleanser that doesn’t dry out your skin.

I've been looking for a cleanser that just works in every way, shape, and form. When I got a hold of this a year or two ago, I knew I had finally found what I was looking for. It's the only cleanser that leaves my skin feeling moisturized, clean, and noticeably calmer than it found it. I really cannot overstate how much I love this cleanser. Not only is it effective, but it's also priced competitively - you get so much product compared to other options. Prequel, if you ever stop making this for any reason, I genuinely don't know what I'll do. It's just that good. I recommend it to everyone.

Well. I suppose it’s more of a “me” problem, but this cleanser has taught me that cocamidopropyl betaine gives me contact dermatitis. Apparently this was “allergen of the year” in 2004. This is, of course, very personal and there’s no reason to avoid it unless you have a reaction to it…like I apparently do. So. It actually gave me the worst flare of all my skin conditions in my life, but it also explained why other products were griefing me. Other than that. If you aren’t~ sensitized by this ingredient, the texture and value are great and it does leave a hydrated feeling after washing, which is rather rare and exciting for a cleanser.

This face wash leaves my face feeling soft and clean. It’s very gentle and hydrating. I also use it as a beard wash.

While this cleanser was super hydrating for my skin, I realized after using it for a few weeks that it was causing a bunch of breakouts all around my face. I think the high glycerin content does not play well with super oily skin like mine. The texture of the cleanser is kind of gross and slimy and leaves your face not feeling clean at all. It also has a weird chemical smell to it that I couldn't get past. Really disappointed because I love most other Prequel products I've tried!

Used this as my double cleanser. It left my face incredibly soft.

I wish I had done a thorough research before buying because this product gave me the worst skin of my life. It’s so irritated and dry and prone to breakout that I wish I had never discovered this product.im still trying to recover :( I thing I have learnt is to never trust reviews blindly

I bought this cleanser 3 months ago and two days after I started breaking out in tiny whiteheads all over my face. I initially suspected other products but nothing had changed in routine except this cleanser. 3 months on and I'm still trying to recover. I literally wish I had never used this product. my skin was fine before and this just made it so dry and itritated and breakout prone. Do you research before buying becuas even though it's marketed as for sensitive skin then ingredients are def not

Oh no! I was so hopeful. Loved how it washed everything away but...gosh how dry my face became. Kept trying to figure out why my dry skin was extra dry when it's says moisturizing. The longer I used it the dryer my face became. My regular moisturizer wouldn't even tough the dryness this caused. Kinda sad because I liked the way it cleaned my skin.
