Marie Callender's Frozen Chicken Pot Pie - 15oz

Oh my, the chicken pot pie used to be one of my favorite quick microwave meals. Even in the oven, it was worth the extra wait. Just bought one a few days ago and cooked it in the oven, expecting that awesome flaky crust that was so wonderful. Instead, the crust was dry on top and uncooked on the bottom. The filling was tasty, but nearly as much as chicken and vegetables as my last one a few months ago. Obviously, as you can see by so many recent reviews and comments, the product is quite inferior to what we expect from Marie Calendars. I appreciate that you may respond to my comments and share this information with your team. Hopefully you will also share these complaints with top management, so they understand why this product is receiving such poor reviews.

Your regular chicken pot pies are absolutely terrible. Please please please bring back the honey roasted chicken pot pies. Those were amazing!

Looks like Marie Callender's will refuse to correct microwave cooking instructions on the package until someone's house burns down because the cooking time is WAY TOO LONG! I see that I complained about this over a year ago, saying that with the recommended time the pie burned and nearly set the box on fire. I hadn't had one since then & forgot about the bad instructions, so the same thing happened again. Now my whole kitchen smells like burned cardboard & I can't get the smell out of my microwave

I agree with other reviews that I have seen. These used to be good - anymore - not so much. The crust has been changed recently, and it's no longer acceptable quality. It's too thick on the bottom and sides (about 1/8 inch thick), and the top isn't "attached" all the way around, so that it separates from the bottom crust and the filling runs out onto the baking pan they sit on - every time! I have gone to baking them a few minutes longer to try to get the bottom crust to not be gummy - and that makes it so hard I can hardly cut it! And the inside part of the crust is STILL gummy! Also, the flavor of the gravy isn't as good as it used to be. I won't be buying them again.

We have enjoyed Marie Callendar pot pies for years. While they still have quite a bit of nice sized chicken pieces, vegetables and gravy, we have noticed they now have a very chemical taste to them. I usually purchase them as a multiple pack and noticed this issue in the last two purchases of this item. This is very disappointing as it was one of my favorite easy to heat comfort foods. I don't think I will be purchasing any more any time soon. Whatever you did to this item, please change it back to the tasty pot pie it used to be.

We bought a four pack of chicken pot pies about two weeks ago. The first two pies were fine, just what we normally expect. we fixed the last two yesterday and both were an extreme disappointment. Neither pie was filled to a normal level and one had hardly any filling in it. The first one had burned pie contents had been burned to the side of its container with a large hard brown mass. The second second pie was burned worse. They were inedible and thrown away.

"Shrinkflation", Chicken pot pies have significantly less filling than before. Just raise the price and keep the same recipes and fill-up the shell like before. You are going to lose lots of regular customers.

Dry, tasteless, rubbery, and pasty with insufficient gravy and vegetables. That's my view and I'll NEVER buy them again! YUCK!

These are very rich in flavor with a nice buttery, flaky crust. They are easy to make and pretty quick as well. You have to be careful and let it cool down a bit because the inside is extremely hot. I like to push the top crust in with a fork.

We love the chicken pot pies but why do you have to put maltodextrin, caracageen & modified corn startch in there?? You’re ruining the pie!! Use natural ingredients! And stop with the fillers please!

Carrots are very hard! Sauce is bland! Used to be much better.

Just had one beef pot pie from Marie callender. I’m extremely disappointed with the Carboard taste. Never tasted so bad.

Hardly any filling they have ruined the product I will never waste my money on this again

I have purchased these for several years and in the past year, the quality has gone down. In particular, the chicken that used to be recognizable as meat is now more like rubbery cubes of something. I will no longer buy them.

They have gotten smaller. I had exactly two carrot slices, 3 peas and three small pieces of chicken. Very disappointing. They used to be better.

I have been buying these pot pies for yrs. I love them. But the last 3 times I've bought them they are so dry we had to throw them out. No gravy at all in them. Very very disappointed. Won't be buying them anymore.

I used to buy these pot pies all of the time. I noticed that they no longer get crispy in the microwave. It seems like when you changed the packaging, it no longer gets crispy. It is very disappointing, because they used to be pretty good—bring the old packages back, that allowed for crispness.

Havent had one in awhile. Loved them before till i bought my ladt one. 1 small piece of chicken, almost no gravy and a few pieces of carrots. It was all dry dough and it was as bad of a meal i ever had. Im so done with this product.

I used to actually enjoy Marie Callender’s pot pies, but the quality has clearly taken a nosedive. First off, the so-called “tear top” is a complete joke. It almost never works the way it’s supposed to. Instead of a clean peel, you end up fighting with it, ripping it unevenly, or just grabbing a knife anyway. For something marketed as convenience food, that’s a fail right out of the gate. Then there’s the crust. What used to be flaky and buttery is now bland, dry, and honestly forgettable. It feels like corners were cut hard here. The flavor just isn’t there anymore, and that’s supposed to be one of the main selling points of a pot pie. The filling isn’t doing it any favors either. Portions seem inconsistent, and the overall taste has gone downhill. It lacks the richness and comfort-food feel it used to have. Some bites are okay, others feel watered down or under-seasoned. And I’m clearly not the only one noticing. A lot of recent reviews mention the same issues: declining quality, frustrating packaging, and a noticeable drop in flavor. It’s disappointing because this used to be a reliable go-to. At this point, it feels like you’re paying for the name, not the product. Unless they seriously step things back up, there are better options out there.
