A: Our meats are smoked and fully cooked, then sliced and packaged. We use a cellulose casing to give shape to our links and cold cuts during the cooking and smoking process. However, this casing is removed after processing and before product is packaged.

A: Great Question! Please note that nitrate and nitrite are closely related chemically. They are different compounds made from nitrogen and oxygen and are used in curing meats. They have been used to preserve color in packaged, cured meats. A secondary benefit is their ability to prevent the growth of bacteria that causes botulism. Hot dogs that do not contain sodium nitrite as a food additive are considered to be “uncured” by the USDA. We hope this helps.

Size fits alright on a bun, I did feel they were a little small overall. Favorite thing about these Oscar Meyers? They come split in 2 packages! So you don’t have to use them all at once!

First off, they’re made with 100% beef and no filler junk, which really shows in the taste and texture. The franks are thick, juicy, and super flavorful. While in the army, my father created this very simple but delicious dish he called “hotdog and noodles“. Such nostalgia eating this! Great quality hot dogs and great taste.
