Q: Cooking directions for a microwave oven

submitted by Marlene - 7 years ago
  • A: Keep frozen until ready to use. May be refrigerated overnight to thaw. Do not refrigerate longer than 3 days. Directions were developed using an 1100-watt microwave oven. Ovens vary. Heat times may need to be adjusted. From Frozen: 1. Remove from wrapper. Wrap in paper towel. 2. Microwave on defrost (30% power) for 1 minute 30 seconds or until thawed. 3. Turn sandwich over, microwave on HIGH for 55 seconds or until hot. (For compact microwave ovens lower than 850 watts, add 10-20 seconds, if needed.) 4. Let stand in microwave for 1 minute before serving. From Refrigerated: 1. Remove from wrapper. Wrap in paper towel. 2. Microwave on HIGH for 50 seconds or until hot. (For compact microwave ovens lower than 850 watts, add 5-10 seconds, if needed.) 3. Let stand in microwave 1 minute before serving.

    Quick, Easy and Delicious

We've tried these in the past and found them convenient and a satisfactory quick breakfast. We purchased an eight-pack yesterday, and we were pleasantly surprised. Each component of the sandwich was perfection. The biscuits were well sized for the egg, cheese and sausage. They were a quick, easy, and delicious breakfast sandwich to enjoy on a football Saturday. They are a great addition to our freezer for both taste and convenience. Thank you!

Different biscuit in 4 pack than original

The product that is 4 to a plastic wrap is the original. The individual ones the biscuit is like a bread(Sponge) instead of the Great biscuit that I have purchased for years. My kids refuse to eat them. I bought some of the Cheaper Grocery store BRAND and they out performed the Jimmy Dean. You have ruined the best breakfast sandwich on the market. I will not recomend or purchase this product as the competor has a true biscuit in thier sandwich!!!

    Where's the biscuit?

I've enjoyed the JD biscuit with sausage, egg and cheese for the past few years. Quick, easy and within my 30g carb breakfast limit. In the last box I purchased, the biscuits were 1.5 inches diameter so the other ingredients hung way out all around. I thought ingredients were listed in order of quantity but the company missed the boat on this batch. I could understand the egg being smaller but the biscuit? Would qualify as half a biscuit at best. Will not purchase again for awhile.

What did yall do to my favorite biscuit sandwich

We've been buying an 8 PC box every 4 days for the past year and opened a new box this morning everything has changed!! Pain in the rear new packaging, flatter, smaller, biscuits, egg,and sausage. Now it had a rubbery, nasty texture and flavor. Unless you guys revert back to the old style, my family will be done with Jimmy Dean products

    Tasty But Small

The size of the sandwich is very small. It’s really the size of a snack and not the size of a breakfast sandwich. Seems to me Jimmy Dean is charging for small product. Two sandwiches seem like a suitable serving size for an adult. Sure way to consume more product and increase sale.

    Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuit

Not sure what has happened to the biscuits that Jimmy Dean uses but they are no longer very good at all. I've eaten these sandwiches for breakfast for many years but something has changed with the biscuits recently. I thing JD used to use Sara Lee biscuits but the ones now come out of the microwave mushy and seem to be undercooked.

Egg Shells in the Scrambled Egg

I made one of these for my 82 year old dad this morning and he said that there were bits of egg shell in the egg and he threw it away. I have 7 more of them to make convenient breakfast for him and I hope the others are ok.

What happened to the size of the biscuit

I’ve eaten Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich everyday for years but lately the quality has gone way down. The biscuit doesn’t even cover the sandwich anymore. Guess it’s time to move on to a new manufacturer. Good bye my old friend

Love the sandwich when there isn’t glass in it

I’ve been eating jimmy dean sandwiches every day for the last year. This morning I bit in and almost chipped my tooth on a hard object. After dissecting the sandwich there were to small objects that resembled either a very hard plastic or glass.

Great quick meal, but losing quality

I've been buying these every week for about a year now and while I do love their flavor and how easy they are to make, it seems the company is trying to cut corners on quality control and ingredients especially on the biscuits themselves. In the last few months, I've had a few boxes of very dry, crumbly biscuits (which isn't a huge deal, they just get messy). The worst part is that over the past few months, the biscuits are getting smaller. They don't cover the sausage patty and cheese any more. If I were to quantify it, I'd say the biscuit is probably 20% smaller. If the entire thing was smaller, I'd understand. Things are expensive and if you have to cut the size of things to keep the same cost, fine by me. But just the biscuit?! That's like the cheapest part to make, no?! Thankfully they also make croissant and English muffin sandwiches, which I will be switching to, but it's disappointing to see the fall of the once delicious biscuit sandwich.

    Tiny Biscuit.

We’ve bought these for years because our kids will eat them for breakfast. The last two boxes we’ve bought the biscuit has been tiny. I mean really really tiny compared to the sausage in the egg. I realize you’re trying to find a way to cut cost, but it looks ridiculous. If you have to reduce the size of one of the items reduce the size of all of the items. The main reason I will eat these is because of the biscuit and the protein I get from it. If the biscuit continues to be this tiny, I will not continue to buy them.

    Worst breakfast sandwich

The biscuit is so small, it doesn't cover the sausage or egg. The biscuit is approx 2 inches in diameter and paper thin. Biscuits are probably the least expensive part of the sandwich and you are left to hold melted cheese. We have tried multiple Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and they are all sub-standard and way too expensive.
