Q: Will this kill the algae? I have shocked and used algacide but still green at the bottom.
A: Hi astark. We are the manufacturer of Clorox Pool and Spa products. The Green Algae Eliminator 2 used in conjunction with a chlorine shock and frequent brushing will help kill algae growths in a pool. Keep in mind both an algaecide and chlorine are used up as they react so it's possible to repeat the application 48 hours later if the algae persists. Failure to do so can cause the algae, a living and growing organism, to grow back and undo the results you were achieving. If the algae continues to thrive despite multiple treatments then it may be a type of algae that would respond better to an alternate algaecide ingredient. Following an algae treatment it would be beneficial to maintain the chlorine on the higher end of ideal with preventative algaecide dosages added weekly. Please give us a call at 800-767-7665 to discuss the matter in more detail. We are available Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm EST.

Q: Will this product kill mosquito larvae? Will it kill COVID 19?
A: Hi, We are the manufacturer of Clorox Pool&Spa products. Green Algae Eliminator2 is an EPA registered algaecide that is recommended for use to prevent and kill green algae. It has not been tested on its use to prevent or remove mosquito larvae. Green Algae Eliminator2 has not been tested for its ability to inactive the virus that causes COVID-19. According the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "There is no evidence that the virus which causes COVID-19 can be spread through the use of pools and hot tubs. As always, it is important to conduct proper routine operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine or bromine) of pools and hot tubs to kill bacteria and keep pools and hot tubs clean." Clorox Pool&Spa recommends pool and hot tub operators diligently follow proper pool maintenance practices. Follow EPA registered product label directions to maintain recommended free chlorine residual of 1 to 4 parts per million (ppm) or bromine residual of 2 to 5 ppm. If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 1-800-SOS-POOL (767-7665). Thank you.
