The Universal Stand Assist places two strong support handles where you need them the most. The assist tool is perfect for anyone who lacks mobility, suffers from a loss of balance, are recovering from surgery or injury, or who have a disability. The dual cushioned handles support weight up to 300 pounds and safely provide the leverage that is needed to lower your raise your body. Universal Stand Assist
So far so good. Needed assist from couch. If you sit all the way back on the cushion, you do have to bring yourself forward to use the stand assist (you had to do this anyway). No more leaning forward and grasping coffee table to get up.

Perfect help for 90 year old.
I purchased and installed this a few days ago for my 90 year old mother to help get off couch. I reversed the handles on it and although she did not have a liftable cushion to put it under, it fit perfectly under the back cushion and seems very secure. Already helping!

It is sorta OK, had to turn handles around to better assist me in getting up out of my recliner. At 94+ years of age any assist is better than none.

Freedom!
Due to disability I am trapped in my house most days. My sons or husband have often had to lift me to a standing position from the couch for a couple of years. That has become a permanent situation, which prevents me from relaxing in comfortable chairs when home alone. I happened to discover the Able Life Car Cane online and that lead me to the Universal Stand Assist. This little slice of freedom has made a huge impact in my life.

good sturdy product but legs too long
I bought this for my mom to have assistance getting into and out of her favorite chair. The piping this device is made from is very strong and sturdy and the whole item is well made. The fact that it is adjustable to the size of your furniture is a big plus. The only thing that keeps me from giving this product 5 stars is that even though the description online said it would work for a chair that is a minimum of 12" from the floor to under the cushion where the frame slips in, I found that even at the shortest setting for the adjustable legs, it was slightly too tall. My work-around was to remove the adjustable legs and use some furniture leg felt pads to protect the piping and the flooring from repeated use.

Absolutely fantastic
I bought this for my father so that he can more easily get out of his recliner. It has made a huge difference. He needed something to push off of to get back in his wheelchair. It doesn’t fit the chair exactly, but with so many recliners out there, how could it possibly fit every model. The bar in the back rises slightly when you put the recliner feet up, but we just put a small pillow there. I highly recommend it.

While visiting a friend, I noticed he used a device that assisted him in getting up out of the chair he was sitting in. They had purchased one for the chair and one for their couch. The raved about the product so much, that I came home and ordered one for my 86 yr. old Mother.
