The taste of our Grandma Utz Kettle-Style Potato Chips hearkens back to the original flavors of our PA Dutch tradition! Made from slightly thicker slices, the chips are hand-stirred in individual batches for an extra-special crunch. The finished chips are drained, lightly salted while still warm, cooled, and then sealed in our iconic Grandma Utz bags - ready to enjoy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's been a while since eating these. I immediately noticed a disappointing change in flavor. They lacked that strong potato sensation that others I heard mention them lacking recently. Then I noticed added ingredients which never use to be there. Grandma Utz was always the best; however, now I'd list Diefenbach"s as the #1 on the market. Potatoes, lard, and salt...simple but good.

Not as I remember
Bought a bag of these recently because I was craving this particular brand. Sorry to say they are not the same as I remembered and didn't even look the same. Thought I got the wrong bag. No, seems the recipe was changed. And not to my liking. Now they're just like any other chip. Will have to find another kettle style brand. 😮💨 And being from PA now living in VA, that's sad.

We’ve noticed a change
These were our family’s all time favorite chipsWe bought a bag yesterday and immediately noticed a difference. We don’t know if it’s the oil they are cooked in or the chips are sliced thinner because they didn’t have the same taste,texture or crunch that we love. We were so disappointed. Please consider switching back to whatever you used or did prior that made them so original and exceptional. They went from being amazing to now just average. Thanks for listening to our feedback.

Not like they used to be!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not purchased "UTZ OLD FASHION kettle potato chips" in a long while. I loved them back in the day when traveling North to visit Grand Parents in Penn. I live in the South and could not get these chips locally. Really had a yerning for that taste I could remember. Ordered 6 bags and anxiously opened the first bag. Really disappointed that these were not what my taste buds rememebered as the chips were thinner and much less "tasty" than before. They tasted like every other kettle chip out there. (I noticed they took the Old Fashion) off the label. Sorry but I will not pay for "another me too" taste profile.

These are amazing!! My great grandma used to keep her chips in the stove in a roaster to keep them warm back in the 50s and they were the best chips EVER! I dont know what kind they were but these brought a tear to my old eyes because they taste just like Grandmas❤️

What happened to my last batch of Grandma Utz Kettle-Style Potato Chips?
Ask any of my friends and they will tell you that I THOUGHT Grandma Utz Kettle-Style Potato Chips were the best ever! BUT the last two bags that I bought (09/16/25) were different (I always buy two bags at a time). They did not taste the same. They were saltier and did not have that familiar crunch that they usually have. They were NOT the same chips. And they are not cheap but was always worth my money. Don't know what happened this time but I have lost my trust. Did you change the recipe?

Best Chips Ever!
Grandma UTZ Kettle chips are my all time favorite chip. They have their own distinct flavor with the perfect amount of salty. I have been eating these chips for the past 5 or 6 years. I recently moved and they are hard to find in Florida so I’m ordering online. Love love love these chips; crunchy, salty goodness.
