Fun experiments with the grandchildren.
I had 3 of my grandchildren on a day off from school. We made the simple syrup with strawberries. We added it to lemonade and it was delicious. They learned about heat and melting sugar and had a fun treat. Next time root beer.

Get it for your kids and for gifts!
This book is great! In the first 24 hours of having it my kids (11 and 9) made 3 recipe/experiments. They all turned out, they all were interesting and they all were fun! Some of the labs/recipes require ingredients I'll have to buy but there were plenty that they could do with what we happened to have on hand which is great too. I plan to stock up on copies to give away for birthday gifts it'd be totally gender neutral and handy to have at the ready. And kids learn to cook, some science, and are occupied with something other than wanting screen time. So many layers of worthwhile!
