I have it 2 stars, because they lasted several seasons, just got a little sunfaded. Now the little plastic clip that attaches the rope to the planter has broken. I called the customer service line, but they don't carry the clips. That clip is the weak link in the design. It's pretty small considering the weight of the planter with water and then plastic in the sun gets brittle. I'm afraid the other will also have a failure, so I guess I will have to pitch them both. Next time, I'll be sure to check out how the hanger attaches to the pot before I purchase any replacement.

I've come to rely on gardeners supply for quality products. However these don't measure up. They both failed this summer crashing down when the plastic clips failed. Disappointed.

I have ordered these hanging planters before and never had an issue before. However, this new one, the little plastic clips broke within a day.

The plastic clips that hold the rope to the pot broke an hour after I hung it up. If you buy one, run some zip ties through the pot and ropes.

The plastic clips that attach cord to basket break easily, even before adding water to the reservoir. The basked is rather thin plastic, I doubt it would last one season. On one of the three baskets purchased, the bottom tray didn't' clip properly into the securement tabs.

I purchased 12 inch pots in 4 colors. Had to add water daily from mid summer, which was easy with a garden hose. Soil stayed moist and flowers did great. Pots cleaned up well for next season.

Love the controlled water delivery. Just needs a screen to prevent insects from breeding

Bought hanging chain sets from garden center to replace cord & plastic. Never fails!

I bought 4 of these. Added soil and my plants and as I was M9carrying them over to where I wanted to hang them the clips that attach the rope to the planter snapped and the planter crashed to the ground leaving a huge mess. I foolishly still hung up the other three, thinking it was a fluke. The next day one fell from it's hanger. I decided that was enough and took to plants out so I could return them. As I was reorienting them to dump the plants out, a third one broke. Those clips are cheap and cannot hold a full planter for even a day. Don't buy these! You will regret it. I suppose these may work out fine if you don't plan to hang them up, but that you could hang them was the entire reason I bought these.

I experienced the same problem as others. New clips are defective and do not hold basket. Basket crashed to the ground within 1 day of planting and plants were destroyed. Earlier model was better.

I own four of these pots, one purchased years ago, three newer ones. The new ones have broken several times, The white plastic clips that attach the ropes to the pot are not sturdy enough to manage the weight of a pot with soil in it. Gardeners sent me replacement clips when the first two pots broke on first use. This season two more broke, always the new ones. This year I used the clips from an older pot and used one less pot in order to get at least three to function. I just left one of the hanging plants I had in the pot it came in, without the self watering feature.

Easy fix to stop pot from eyelet coming out. Clear zip tie thru eyelet and above rope back around outside pot lip. Cut end off of zip tie.. Bought quite a few at discounted price.

I purchased many of these when they were available at stores. Haven't been able to find them again until now. They have lasted many years. After awhile you MUST water from the bottom because the glue rots and when you water from the top it leaks out the hole on the side. But I will buy again. I need to replace many of my hanging pots because the rope and plastic parts that they hang from have gotten old and rotten. But it has taken a long time for this to happen.

I potted an small indoor plant in this, watered it, and hung it up about 8 feet overhead. 2 days later, while my elderly partner was sitting almost under it, it crashed to the floor, missing his head by 1 inch. About ten lb. weight almost fell on his head. The white plastic fastening devices simple broke. You can imagine the result if a small dog or a baby was crawling under it at the time! PLEASE please do not buy this until the manufacturer has fixed the flaw.

I've bought a bunch of these over the years, they are good self-watering planters at a good price. Only problem is they haven't had the smaller 8" ones for a very long time. The larger ones are fine, but too big for many of my uses.

Got this six years ago to rehome a 10+yo spider plant that was gifted to me. Hung it up in front of our kitchen window, refilled it whenever I managed to remember, & my spider plant bloomed multiple times. After one big move and a new window, the planter remains as sturdy as the day I got it and my spider plant is still a very happy camper.

The rings that hold the plant to the ceiling hanger could be a metal that doesn't rust. If you hang these outdoors long enough the ring will rust and look bad. perhaps stainless steel would be better.

The "pot" part works well. The hanging system does not last, is not strong enough to hold a heavy plant with water running through it, and cannot be used outside in wind or rain. I have tried to save the plants from three of these pots that spontaneously self-destructed (at different times) and shattered on the ground. It was not fun.

My elderly parents bought 4 of these. One upon being hung up fell in less than two minutes. Like buttered bread, the best side down, only with smashed flowers. My inner Macgyver thought welp better grab zip ties. These little plastic clips at the end of the hanging rope are terrible, don't fit well into the planter and are very brittle. I can't attest to the watering portion working well as my attention was kept on the hanging baskets actually hanging.

Needing to replace my older Gardener's Supply baskets with identical new ones (someone tossed the inserts with the old plants last fall), I ordered 3. The first one was planted and hung up. Very nice. However, when the third one was hung up, within 5 minutes it was upside down on the ground with crushed flowers. Turns out the original clips that attach basket to cords were changed to flimsy ones that break easily. I quickly took down the first two to avoid the same catastrophe. Luckily, I still had the old baskets and was able to use the old cords with sturdy clips on the new baskets. The difference in clip quality was obvious. No way can the new clips hold these baskets. Avoid these baskets until this issue is resolved.
