Works well for attaching 2 short ethernet cables to make 1 longer and functioning ethernet cable. No noticeable data slowdown.

Monoprice ethernet connector and CAT 5 cable extension

This was purchase in combination with a 20 ft length of CAT5 cable from monoprice. It did not work at all, either the cable or connector were faulty. I was extending my ethernet wire.

7 of 10 Couplers story working after 2-3 years. Long process to troubleshoot. Would not recommend this product.

Ones that worked were fine.

I ordered a few dozen of these when they were on sale. About ½ of them did not work. The ones that did work were fine.

8P8C RJ45 Coupler

Tolerance is extremely tight for any inserted RJ45 male end. And for your reference they are a smidge short in port height compared to Leviton They fit a QP jack, but there is a little play.

Easy Smeasy

Fit perfectly on the faceplate I purchased. It is basically a coupler that allowed me to wire up a wall with no issues and very fast. I would recommend to a friend.

Good Quality at a Good Price.

Couplers were a little slow to arrive, but that was expected with this time of the year. The quality and fit was everything I expected and will not hesitate to order these again. As always, price was very competitive with other suppliers.

Terrible product - they loosened up over time and eventually failed completely - the Cat 5e version is the same product with a Cat6 label.

Good product with a flaw

This works well, but with that being said you'd think buying the face plates from monoprice everything would fit into place but they will not snap i place. For this reason I gave this 3 stars. So beware.

Poor design leading to increased failure

Handy device but not sure why these include a circuit board in between the contact wires. Agree with reviews that these are great when they work, but have a high failure rate (mine died unexpectedly after about a year or two. Not recommended for professional install. Will be switching to a non-interrupted in-line connector (no circuit board) next time.

50% DoA failure rate

I bought a handful of these and half of them don't maintain electrical contact unless you apply pressure on both cables coming in to the coupler. The other half work fine as expected, but it's annoying to have this many bad couplers.
