This heavy duty surge protector features a metal top enclosure for a durable power distribution solution. It is designed to be physically more robust than ordinary power strips with housings made entirely of plastic. This surge protector provides 540 joules of protection against power surges or voltage spikes, that could damage electronics and appliances. This is one of those items that, when you hold it in your hands, you get a sense that it is a well-made product. It works fine. I haven't had any need to take it apart to view the interior construction, but as above, I do get the sense that it is a quality product.
