Your video card must output an analog DVI signal if this adapter is to be used. Also note that this does not convert VGA signals to DVI-A or DVI-I. This adapter can only be used in the DVI to VGA direction.

Truthfully I haven't used them yet, but I have used them in the past. They bring new life to an older computer that doesn't have a DVI output. I expect this to work flawlessly, like the other Monoprice products I have purchased. This is a minimal investment to extend the life of older hardware. These are good to keep around the household/office.
