Rao’s Rigatoni Bolognese – 4/5 Stars Pleasantly surprised by this one! The entrée was nice and saucy—no complaints about sauce quantity, which can sometimes be an issue with pre-made meals. It had a decent amount of meat, though a bit more would’ve pushed it into 5-star territory. We added our own freshly shaved Parmesan on top, which really elevated the dish. Is it a homemade Sunday dinner? No. But for a convenient, weeknight option, it absolutely hits the mark. Quality and flavor were solid, and it’s a great value compared to takeout or making it all from scratch. We’ll definitely be picking it up again!

Great When No Time to Cook
Considering it's a frozen dinner, it was pretty good. And thats how I rated it. Decent sauce (not too sweet like some. I didnt have to cook. Adding extra parmesan and a salad, family ate it all. No complaints.

Great for frozen pasta!
This pasta exceeded my expectations. It's the first Rao's product I've tried. While I did have a few noodles that looked like freezer burn was setting in (had just bought 2 days before) it did not affect the taste. I had plenty of sauce in mine, and a decent amount of cheese, though I did add more because I love cheese. I thought it tasted very good. I'd eat it again for sure, if I could get it at the same price. It was being clearanced at my store so I could afford it on my fixed income. I'll have to watch for a sale on the sauce and try to recreate.

Hardly any sauce! Not like pictured noodles were dry and some uncooked do not waste your money I had to throw it away

Good sauce, bad freezer burn - just buy sauce
As usual with Rao’s, really good sauce. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, some pasta - the part outside the sauce - was freezer burned, even though we bought it less than three days ago (bought Friday night; cooked Monday afternoon). Had to pull out several pieces before serving. This is also why people say there’s “not enough sauce” and “some pieces are crunchy/not cooked:” they were cooked, but they dried out in the freezing process (see photos for the white/dried out bits and the pieces that suddenly get narrow at one end - where they stuck up out of the sauce). Will not buy again; will only buy the sauce and then add our own pasta. Cheaper, and much, much better.

Huge disappointment for Rao's product
I had rigatoni bolognese for lunch today. I was very disappointed and will not buy it again. Very little meat, almost no sauce or cheese. Some pasta was actually uncooked and crunchy.

Disappointed
We decided to try Rao's Rigatoni Bolognese. I have heard so many reviews saying how good the sauce is. After cooking, it was so dry and several of the rigatonis were actually crunchy! It did NOT look the picture on the box. Did you maybe forget to put the sauce in the box? Or maybe this was a bad batch? Will not be buying any Rao's frozen meals in the near future.

People who use and like cheap pasta sauce should not bother. You won't like good pasta sauce and non fake meat in their foods.
Flavor, actual real meat. I assume most of the negative reviews are using Prego or some other cheap sauce.

Definately do not buy
It had barely any sauce compared to to picture on the box and noodles ended up being hard. I tried it because it was on sale and the sauce is supposedly good. Definitely would not buy again or recommend. My family was very disappointed

Needs Sauce and cheese
We got these the other day and i was excited to see they are making dinners now but after we made it we were kind of disappointed with the lack of cheese and sauce. There was a water down flavor too it and it was disappointing and for the cost that the dinners are, we will not be purchasing again.

I think freezing it is the issue
The box says to refrigerate or freeze. And I would bet that the issues people have with this meal are from trying to cook directly from frozen. That’s what I did, as nowhere do the directions say you need to thaw it first. When I pulled it out of the oven it was pretty unappetizing to look at, there was a lot of liquid in the bottom, a few hard noodles, and some frozen spots mixed with hot spots. I nuked it in the microwave for a minute afterwards and that seemed to do the trick. It tasted fine after that, there wasn’t any liquid and the sauce mixed up with the pasta much better. I’m willing to try this again without freezing it and I’m guessing that will make all the difference.

Rao's Items are Good but This Was Just Okay
There was a decent amount of meat. It needed cheese and a slightly sweeter sauce for my liking. It had more sauce than other frozen meal companies which is a plus but it was kind of salty to me. It was missing something and the noodles were somewhat hard because there needed to be more moisture. This didn't taste balanced. It wasn't awful but it is hit or miss if I would eat this again.
