Needs better modeling fot buuterflies to pupate properly
Great for beginners but lacks the quality for butterfly growth because zipper opening is on the top. Also doesn’t prevent butterflies from pupating on the zipper which is hazardous for the butterfly and also prohibits cleaning or opening while they’re turning into butterflies. Would be better made if it had a side zipper opening that was made to prevent this.

Company sells the caterpillar’s via third party & “have no control over their pricing of shipping increases” Proceed with caution using this company as they are sketchy. The “coupon” is for $8.95 but now whenever you purchase them it’s $10.95

Awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This butterfly bungalow was amazing! My children (2&4 years) both loved waiting for the caterpillars to make their cocoon, and checked on them daily to see if they had started to hatch! I will most likely buy the caterpillars every year and do this activity annually since we enjoyed it so much.

Got to watch the lifecycle of a butterfly!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received our bungalow and then we ordered our caterpillars and got those in the mail within a few days. We got to watch them crawl around and it for days and finally they made their way to the top of the cup and went upside down and got ready to chrysalis. They stayed like that for a few days to get harder to transfer them to the bungalow. We watched them every day until the turned into butterflies! My kids loved being able to let them go and have them land on them before they flew off. I would highly recommend this product. My kids loved watching them everyday to see what they were doing. We would definitely buy this again!

So neat but...

It isn't instant gratification because you have to order the caterpillars(heads up, you have to cover the shipping/handling cost $8.95 USD). Still waiting for my caterpillars to arrive, may not get them as the weather is getting cooler. The concept is neat tho. My daughter is very anxious to watch the transformation.

A really fun family activity!

Great learning experience
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a very educational experience for my 5 year old and her kindergarten class. It comes with a certificate to order caterpillars, you have to pay for them separately because of shipping. You get 5 caterpillars, food and very clear instructions on how to take care of them. Within days the caterpillars formed chrysalis' and when they emerged, they were beautiful painted lady butterflies. Very educational and entertaining. The children loved it.

Butterfly kit that helps kids to learn about life science
My kids (ages 4.5 and 6) LOVE butterflies so they had so much fun watching the transformation from caterpillars to chrysalides to butterflies! We have done some other butterfly kits but I really liked this one the most because it includes extras like a magnifying glass, activity guide and even a detachable shade for the habitat! This is such a great way to teach kids about life cycles and life science at home and it's a good hands on way for kids to see the transformation with their own eyes! We absolutely loved this kit and will definitely buy it again next year!

Perfect Way to Grow Butterflies
Lots of the negative comments are from customers expecting the caterpillars to be included - they are not like the listing says! The caterpillars are shipped separately. My whole family really enjoyed watching the process of metamorphosis of the caterpillars turning into butterflies. It became part of our daily routine to check on their progress. We had 5 beautiful butterflies that we released in our backyard. It was awesome! We will do it again next year and just pay for the caterpillars to be shipped to us.

Fun Summer Science
I bought this for my daughter who is going into 1st grade. They talked a lot about the butterfly life-cycle in her Kindergarten class. I think I enjoyed this as much as she did. We received 6 caterpillars and all 6 turned into butterflies!

Missing pieces and no help from company
The size of the butterfly house is perfect. That's about the only good thing I can say. Ours came without the activity guide, the chrysalis log, and the caterpillar certificate!!!!! I e-mailed the company with this info. and have heard nothing back from them. Don't waste your money on a kit that isn't complete!
