Prerty good

I personally liked this bookshelf. Directions weren’t too bad to follow, very similar to a very popular furniture store chain for instructions ( I K E A ). I would say a power drill made things a lot easier. Using a screwdriver alone would be pretty difficult in putting this together.

Shelving is nice. Dowels are pain to install

Shelving unit wasn’t difficult. However, holes for dowels are too small for the screws to easily fit together. You’ll need a lot of elbow grease and hand strength to get the screws installed in a way where you’re not stripping them in the process.

Mold/mildew

It’s okay for the price. I do really like the bookshelf but the quality is an issue. Right when opening the box there was a very strong mold/mildew smell. Upon further inspection all the fabric smells like mildew. I attempted to wash it and it doesn’t help at all. I then noticed what look like mildew spots on the drawers as well. Unfortunately after putting it together I still can’t get over the strong smell and I’m not going to risk my child’s safety so I’ll have to find a different bookshelf.

Disappointed

I was super excited to get this piece delivered and installed for my son. After opening you can see the material is scratched straight out of the box. The wholes for the screws are poorly done. Instructions are so simple and don’t provide any details.

Nicely made

Overall it's a nice piece. Instructions is not into the details. Make sure you think all the steps through or you'll have to re-do it like I did. I did think a few more steps but not enough.
