[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pond pump has a lot of power. It was fairly simple to install coming you just have to follow the instructions that are provided. The pump I got was the Alpine Corporation Tornado Pump 1500 GPH with 33' Cord for Ponds, Fountains, and Waterfalls. I love the longer cord which makes it easier to place this deeper into the pond for more aeration. I would say this is good for a medium sized pond, nothing too large but it could be overpowering for a very small pond as well. Our pond is basically the size and diameter of a small above ground pool and this works very well in it. It keeps the water circulating and so far we've had no problems with it whatsoever.

We have been looking for a pump that is strong enough to push water up to keep the waterfall flowing. The pump sits flush and can be used horizontally or vertical. The 33’ cord is nice and I have enough to hide it between the rocks without worrying if it ends up too short. The Tornado Pump is also energy saving so I have no worries running it all the time. I do take this out during the winter months since the water does freeze. I cannot wait to reinstall it again next year and receive the compliments on hoe beautiful and flowing my waterfall is!

I love the extra long cord and it's very easy to install. While I don't currently need it to be a submersible but having the option is really cool. I have a cascading waterfall in my birdbath that never really worked UNTIL NOW! I didn't even know how gorgeous it was until this pump showcased what it could actually do! This pump is made with great parts and is meant to last, plus a 3 year warranty makes me super comfortable! I'm just so pleased with this item!! Thank you so much Alpine Corporation!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the Alpine Tornado Pond Pump for a waterfall feature in my 1500 gallon pond. The base of the pump has a built in stand where it can be secured to a platform and a built in handle. It comes with a 33’ extension cord so that’s a great feature to have because you never want to use external extension cords with water. You always want to plug into a GFCI outlet so if the pumps shorts out it’s protected. Plus it comes with a 3 year warranty where most pumps have only one year. The pump is oil free with a magnetic driven ceramic shaft. The length of the pump is 11” the height is 7-1/2” to the top of the adapter for the water outlet. The pump has a 1-1/4” male opening that’s threaded and comes with the female adapter that’s threaded on both end’s where the nozzle adapter screws in to attach the tubing with a hose clap. The housing for the impeller comes off for easy access for maintenance and cleaning debris out. Overall the design of the pump is very nice the housing is all plastic and with the long power cord makes it perfect for those outlets far away from water.

This pump is very quiet and delivers a lot of power. When I first tried it out I had to put my ear close to it just to hear it was running; its that quiet! The alpine 1500gph tornado pump is more than enough to make my project a success when spring gets here. Just for the test run it shot water up at least 10 feet high. It is very effective and energy-efficient. The set up was easy and that takes any guess work out of it. The real test will be after a couple of years, but guess what it also comes with a 3 year warranty! So I think I made a good choice and will have many beautiful evenings admiring what this pump has allowed me to achieve.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a waterfall feature in our pool to help circulate the water. It was here when we bought the house and it always just dribbled water. After attaching the Alpine Corporation Tornado Pump, we can see what the waterfall is really supposed to look like. It takes the water that pools on the top and recycles it back down so quickly and precisely. Definitely a keeper.

It pushes a lot of water and ensures the circulation will be strong and help keeping the water crystal clear. If you plan on using this to move water up for a decorative waterfall or fountain then you will not be disappointed.
