    Thin material

    You can see the pockets. Material seems thin. Wish the material was thicker to avoid seeing the pockets. The quality of the material has declined from past purchases of these shorts.

    Not for me.

    These were huge, run extra large and I wasn’t a fan of the fabric. They seemed to be an old pair of shorts caught in a liquidation sale. Not good!

    Fabric has changed

    I own several of these shorts that I've worn for many years. They are very comfortable and easy to wear. My first impression when I opened the shorts I just received is that that the fabric is very different. The fabric is much thinner than the ones I have previously purchased. I hope they wear the same.

    Great shorts. Sizing is way off.

    I have three other pairs of these shorts in a petite large. When I received these and tried them on, they looked like skirts on me, they were so wide! Olive shorts are my old large petite, the others are the new ones—about two inches too wide. I’m still debating if I should have them altered, but I’m really bummed that I can’t count on Land’s End for consistent petite sizes any longer. The cotton is soft and color is beautiful. The shorts are well-made, so the three stars are on quality of short BUT TAKE NOTE these are not the cut as they used to be!!!!

    Consistently Soft !

    The cotton in these shorts stays soft for years. I’d like to order them in tall now that I’m older and more modest but they aren’t available. I’ll try again later to get that in navy. Please do not change the fabric or design.

    Inconsistent leg opening width, too wide

    I bought size S in black & lapis, leg openings measured 25", the size S in coffee that I bought in July were 26" wide. In 2023, I got a pair of white size S that measured 28" wide and a pair of navy that measured 20". Size chart says these all should be 23 1/2". Because of the 20" navy pair, I ordered size M in April 2025, the burnt clay was 29" and the lily pad was 26". Size chart says M=24 1/4". These size inconsistencies are making me crazy. The 20" wide leg is too tight across the hip, causing the pockets to bulge. The 29" wide ones sag in the butt and look like sloppy culottes. I just want some trim, comfy shorts to wear around the house, to the gym, running errands in Florida heat.

    These are a comfy fit, but us older girls want them in the 12" inseam please. The bermuda version has the 12", but that is too much knit fabric between the legs. Please add longer length to this very comfortable, versatile short!

    Liked old style better

    Loved sport knit tall shorts with narrow elastic waist….these have thick elastic and are shorter—don’t love these but they’ll do around the house—I didn’t order or get petite
