Star Ocean: The Divine Force - Xbox Series X/Xbox One

This game changed the way I look at the Star Ocean ocean franchise

What a treat this game was. A huge surprise, no for a low budget game in need of a major patch update to be optimized and font size increase, this game was so fun and packed with content. Exploring was fluid and fun especially when you shoot to the sky for quick bursts of flight with D.U.M.A. Movement has great momentum, none of the floaty cheap movement in other JRPG games where you don't react to your terrain. You feel like you character has weight. Combat is fun and flashy with amazing follow through and SO MANY characters, and skills to choose from. Raymond (one of 2 main protaginsts you play) has an incredible voice actor that lifts the game to heights I never thought imaginable in a JRPG. The setting of Space and crash landing into an under developed medivel fantasy world is a great premise and wish more JRPGs explored that. It has a fun way of presenting it and good story. Definitely not the best but servicable and has you intrigued through out. Only gripe I have is the animations and the way the characters look (they look like porcelain dolls, without many facial expressions, kid heads on adults bodies) it needs MORE action pack cutscenes because when it does have them they are great, but again this was a low budget game but they really used every penny and went above and beyond. It shows. Don't even get me started on the awesome board game mini game that gives me Witcher 3 vibes. Please try this game if you love RPGs. I am glad I tried this on a whim

This is an excellent game that belongs on every console. Step outside your comfort zone and try something totally new. Youll be glad you did.

The Divine Force is a bold and exciting new direction for the series with incredibly fun combat, great characters, and a gripping story.

Pretty epic battles, you wont get bored.

Although the graphics are hit and miss and there are some quality of life improvements needed, Star Ocean: The Divine Force is a JRPG that's definitely worth your time.

Its revamped combat is a lot of fun, breathing fresh life into a system that certainly benefits by evolving with the times a bit.

Enoyed this game very much. Good storyline and easy to learn
